Good morning. Just a tip. The fabric that you're covering you're dough with goes in the bowl and you flour the fabric before adding the dough. It will release a lot easier for you.
@keeperofthehomeat4dfarms Жыл бұрын
@Echols2009 I have the same bowl and cover and in the instructions it came with it says you can use as a cover or insert. If you do not use it as the insert you just flour your bowl really well.

What causes American wheat to have Glyphosate and not European whet? I have to eat gluten free because of my joints. I was diagnosed about 20 years ago with Ankylosing Spondylitis and had a lot of pain. I read on a message on the AS website that this lady had relief from the pain by eating gluten free. 20 years later after eating 100% gluten free I have gone to Rheumatologists and they say I don’t have AS. Yeah!!! But when I eat anything that has gluten in it, my joint pain gets bad, not as bad though as if I didn’t go back to eating GF. Thank-you also to the wonderful chef, I can’t remember your name and I don’t want to lose where I am, for this wonderful video!!!! I am new subscriber!!!

Have you tried it? How did it turn out?
@AnaA-q7i4 ай бұрын
Been baking this bread my entire life, but there are a few things I do differently for better results. It’s the last stage. Let the bread grow directly in the dutch oven if you want to bake it covered, or in any baking pan. The lead is optional when baking. I use a glass pie baking pan and parchment paper is not needed if you sprinkle flower on the bottom. For even better nonstick results oil the pan and then sprinkle flour. I use corn flour to make it crunchier. Let the loaf of bread grow really big and don’t touch it. Bake for 30-60 min depending on the size of your loaf. A big loaf requires an hour at 350 degrees. You’ll end up with a very fluffy, delicious loath of bread. Refrigerated bread will turn just- baked -fresh if microwaved for 30 to 60 sec.

Well done! I usually do sourdough bread because of the ease of digestabilty. But you know, sometimes you just want a fresh loaf of bread that isn’t a two day extravaganza. I really am impressed. Especially with that gluten free loaf. Way to go! ❤
@wakeuppeople777 Жыл бұрын
I’m a sourdough bread maker too, and I hear you on the extravaganza lol. Started using a simple process of not measuring/weighing flour and water for my starter. I only measure when making the bread. Super easy and fits my daily routine. And it’s the only bread that does not cause me to have digestive issues.

Would you share your recipe and method? I've never made it and I love sourdough.
@ladyvader3173 Жыл бұрын
If you have a starter, you can really eyeball the consistency for the feeding. Just fill a glass with maybe like a half-cup of flour and mix with water until smooth, add a teaspoon of starter and wait. But what is the point in not weighing it, it takes 2 seconds longer

I so much appreciate a gluten free recipe! As a Celiac patient, I'd like to interject a couple of "be careful" comments, if you don't mind? 1. If you are going to use reusable bread bags, it's awesome, but be very careful not to use the same bag for your GF bread as you might use for other, 'normal' bread that you have for other non-Gluten-challenged family members. They must never be interchanged. 2. The problem with store-bought gluten free breads are that they use SUGAR to give the bread structure, making them a challenge for those of us trying to cut out hidden sugars in our diets. I'm anxious to try this recipe to see if it will rise or brown without sugar in it. 3. The basket for raising the bread must also be carefully segregated from anything used to raise gluten filled dough. Because of the airiness that these baskets have that make the bread rise so well, they are a trap for bits of wheat flour that would get into your GF bread dough. Again, I so much appreciate the gluten free option!

I've made the version of this bread that has you refrigerate the dough overnight, but I don't know that I'll want bread a day ahead of time. I'm going to use your recipe from now on. I work from home, so I can let it rise while I work. I bake for a grandchild with celiac disease. If you buy a bread maker, you will have to buy one with a gluten free cycle. Regular bread makers can’t handle the powdery gf flours, and gf bread rises only once. Try making gf cornbread, using a gf flour mixture instead of the wheat flour. You probably can’t taste the difference.

I love your vids and subbed your channel but need to make an important point. You are using the banneton incorrectly. The cloth piece isn’t for covering the bread, it to be used to line the banneton, the French refer to the cloth lining as a couche. You instert the couche into the banneton then dust it with a good almount of fine rice flour or corn meal, then place the dough in to rise. This method allows you to flip the bread out and not have it deflate or get stuck in the bottom of the actual banneton frame. Using the couche will help you get a far better rise for your fantastic recipe.❤ 🍞

OMG. I love bread, like Oprah Winfrey!! Lol. I stopped eating it. But you caught me when you said 2. Gluten-free. 2. Homemade butter bring stored outside of the fridge. And 3. Homemade jelly. OMG. Luv it. And you are so right about homemade bread being a feeling on that last bite. Bread, butter, jelly and an egg are one of my favs with hot tea or coffee. And it's filling. ❤it!!!😊

I just found your channel. This recipe fills a need in my soul. I am gluten free but I seriously miss real bread. Store bought gf is not it.

My mother is gluten free so I guess I'll have to convert the different amounts of ingredients for our next dinner! ;) Also, here in France, it is a bit complicated to find dry yeast like yours: it comes as a half-moist cube that we have to keep in the fridge, so it can be complicated take the right amount...

If you have any european shops in your area (shops with products from balkan/slavik countries) you can 100% find dry yeast

@@eclypse6132 I'm actually french, but I live in a big town. Never looked for that kind of shop, though. But thanks, I'll try! 😃

I tried to sign up for automatic recipes but the link wouldn’t work-I’m not complaining at all because I love your channel, I just wanted to call it to your attention! You explain everything so well, and I love your sustainable approach. Your mission is so beautiful and right in the money for most of us. Keep up the fabulous work!! I predict you will be a star someday.

Maintaining sourdough starter is as much trouble as adopting a pet.

@@kathyyoung1774check out other recipes online, there are several with minimal feeding, fridge storage with no feeding, no discard versions online I’m still working on my room temp version starter to try to get it super active. It can be fun

Hello @Becoming a Farm Girl have you tried this in a loaf pan by chance? I'd like to have a taller bread for sandwiches. Have a blessed day 🙏🏻
