Gluten free lemon drizzle cake - Lovely simple recipe which tastes delicious!

This is a classic soft buttery bake, delicately fragranced with lemon and crowned with a crunchy sweet lemon drizzle topping. Slice it nice and thick and enjoy with a hot cuppa!
On this occasion I used ASDA Free From gluten free self-raising flour but have also had super results using Sainsbury’s gluten free self- raising flour and also Juvela gluten free mix.

That's just as my mum made it, in the fifties our mums didn't have electric mixers and my mum used a big metal spoon in all her mixing. This looks yummy liz.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I know it really is so lovely and easy to make. No fancy gadgets needed. I do hope you pop this one on your list of things to try. I’m forever rustling up gluten free versions of standard recipes, so if you have your old favourites I’d suggest trying them out with gluten free flour as well. .xx

You must have fresh eggs! I like them room temperature too, but I only trust the eggs from my chickens :) This is a luscious cake, Liz! So glad to have found you on IG. Always nice to connect with other GF creators :)
