I thought at that time, i couldn’t do it bec i love bread, pastas and other pastries. I start doing inner child work and listen to a lot of audiobooks how to heal your inner child and one of the audiobook i was listening talks about gluten, inflammation and gut-brain health.. After years of debilitating migraines, epilepsy, and finally being bedbound for 10 years with ME/CFS at age 50, I changed to OMAD ketovore after intially reducing gluten. I am now no longer bedbound and am able to work with my horses again and write plays. Having been a psychology lecturer and mental health nurse these things were alwyas a challenge. My infrequent migraines last half a day at best, I don't have brain fog and I feel much healthier at 64 than I did at 50. Unbelieveable improvement. I am still on epilepsy tablets but reduced dose and it is fully controlled. I realise my diet is extreme but I never feel hungry and there is no doubt that if other foods creep back in the brain fog and fatigue also creep back. I diagnosed myself with gluten neuropathy after year's of doctors visits, multiple surgeries and ending up on morphine at the young age of 34 due to the deliberating pain of neuropathy. As soon as I took a chance and dropped gluten, the pain went away almost immediately! Now if I am accidentally glutened, I fell the burning/tingling fire off neuropathy in my hands/feet and especially lower back. I wish more PCP's and specialists could suggest a GF diet to people who are suffering. After 1 year of work related chronic stress and eating way too much sugar, I developed gut issues, stomach distension, breathing episodes where I felt like I couldn't get in enough oxygen for about 30 minutes each time along with extreme lethargy, periodic fast and hard heartbeats, horrible leg cramps, extreme Irritability and depression like never before in my life. The breathing episodes made me feel like I was dying and eventually landed me in the hospital. I was treated for upper right quadrant pain and shortness of breath. They did an ultrasound of my liver, pancreas, gallbladder and right kidney but found no issues. The blood work showed low lymphocytes (higher risk of infection), high neutrophils (body under stress), high chloride (too much acid in the blood), high globulin (possible infection, inflammation), high glucose (body has too little insulin), high proteins and low osmolality. I didn't get an answer from the doctors what was causing my low oxygen breathing episodes and was sent home with a diagnosis of hypertension from anxiety and told me to follow up with my primary doctor. After my "15 minute" primary doctor visit, he seemed to dismiss my described sypmptoms and diagnosed me with anxiety as well and then prescribed anti-anxiety meds. I may have looked like I was anxious but I was worried about the horrible sypmtoms I was having however, all he could see was anxiety! I never took the anti-anxiety meds because I knew it wasn't going to fix my real problem. I gave up on doctors and felt all I could do is try to save myself. So, I educated myself with tons of online research and watch lots of you tube videos, etc. Afterwards, I decided I would have to eliminate the stress and sugar and get on a healthy diet and supplement with minerals and vitamins. I suspected that I had leaky gut, nutrient deficiencies and possibly some sort of nerve damage. My goal was to heal the gut. Out with the bad bugs and in with the good. The first thing I did was quit my high stress job and then started an anti-imflammatory diet. After about a month my symptoms started to go away which was great however, I ended up with Bell's Palsy about 3 months later where the right side of my face was totally paralyzed. Doctors never connected it to my prior health issues but I read that infection could be one of the causes. I've been fine for a year now but I've been left to only wonder what happened to cause my health to go bad. I just wish the doctors could have narrowed it down for me because I fear it could happen again or fear that the doctors missed a serious issue that I may still have sitting a bay. A "15 minute doctor" just can't really help. So sad!

Thank you so much for covering these issues. I have fallen into serious trouble in recent months (worse than I have been in many, many years) and have had a variety of old symptoms revisit me. Praying about this recently, I went to sleep last night with KZbin running and woke up in the middle of the night just at the beginning of this airing in my feed. I needed some help and reminders. (Every supplement you mentioned used to be part of my norm but many had fallen off.) Also, some reassurance that I am not simply "losing" my mind and can once more restore myself. I've been in process of backing everything up and moving back to a very strict autoimmune diet as you suggest. (Yes, I had brought some things back in that didn't 'seem' to bother me.) No surprise that God chose to use you to answer my concerns and set me straight, as has been the case since my diagnosis all those years ago. Thank you, Dr O. EDIT: I woke up this morning to watch it again fully awake and just now got to the end of the questions. Thank you for that word. I have so many friends and family - some of whom work within healthcare - who look upon me as 'suspect' due to my status. Thank you for your factual 'opinion' that I can add to my arsenal when faced with their criticisms.- just another Godsent for me

After years of numerous digestive issues including IBS, lower back pain and knee pain everything was resolved with elimination of plant based foods. I eat only meat, eggs, butter, fish. Against better judgement when I eat sweet things like cake or ice cream I get massive headaches that last about 3 days. Coffee causes anxiety and affects my sleep. I’m too alert right before going to bed. Every other non animal based food disrupts sleep. Sleep is shallow and I feel tired after waking up. When I eat animal food only my sleep is extremely deep and refreshing even when I wake up at 5:30 in the morning. I tried different brand of coffee and I got severe eyeball pain for couple days. Again when I eat non animal food I get itchy eyes and my vision is affected. Certain hard cheeses cause having runny nose. It may look like I have some food sensitivities or allergies but reality is that after being on carnivore diet for longer period of time my body became more sensitive to foods that cause inflammation. In a sense my body reacts properly right now. Previously I ate foods like everybody else and developed illnesses that are rather standard for human population.

My Drs warned that following celiac many found themselves with type2 diabetes ... That was true for me as well as SIBO with the need for low FODMAP diet. I am starting to feel better 15 years later but I also take a raft of vitamin supplements as of late. I will never eat gluten, sugar, processed foods and some high FODMAP foods FYI, I was dx with hashimotos hypothyroid in 1993. The Celiac dx did not come until 2009. During those 15 years and even before that, I knew something was wrong, but thought it was alcohol allergy because the worst of it disappeared when I stopped drinking. Turns out it was the gluten in beer (wheat) and premix drinks (malt liquor, wheat) that triggered me most physically. Although physically I feel better, my debilitating anxiety seems here to stay ... That's been a lifelong problem.

This certainly sounds like me. I am 75 hope changing my dietary habit to gluten free.

😢 How sad no one explains this, educate or investigate, explore individuals debilitating conditions. Thank you Dr Osborne, up to this date I'm struggling all you mentioned. Cut story short i have been referred to psychiatrist.. ( I haven't attended no appointment) I stated to the doctor Im not suffering from mental illness... However pain causes depression as you just cant get rid of pain. I dont think doctors have your level of awareness or insight . Doctors only act on what they specialise on. Therefore your teaching shows people great insight on whats happening ( biology) is not looked into holistically. Thank you sharing this your time is greatly appreciated.

Thank you so very much! I feel like crying 😢. All my doctors did was gave me a sheet of paper with all of the foods and things that I am allergic to. Wheat was number one, then egg whites, dog danders, oak…cottonwood, sesame seed oil…15 more things. For years, my quality of life has been poor. Several gastrointestinal surgeries and so much medication for the symptoms. The first time a doctor told me was about twenty years ago. I tried to do this on my own with the limited research back then. I didn’t understand all that you are explaining here. For years, I have been eating other grains not realizing that they had gluten. This actually feels like a malpractice that neither doctor did anything more than handed me a paper. Now I am a mess. So many surgeries and pain and suffering. I felt like I was dying recently. Obviously, I was. I have been taking better precautions within the last few weeks. I feel a little better but so far to go. I just ordered the book and look forward to healing if it’s not too late. Thank you!

Somebody please cast this man for the next western/cowboy movie... All jokes aside, I was diagnosed with ALS four years ago -- aged 43. Later, an outside-the-box GP informed me of the neurological implications of my gluten sensitivity, as evident in antibodies; but I never believed that it could affect me so severely. Beginning September 2021 I began eating only meat (for unrelated reasons) and am seeing major improvements in strength, hip and back pain have vanished, and fully atrophied muscles have even begun to twitch again. I am curious to know if milk also has a negative impact on the nervous system.

, Through my research about autism (I am 75y old grandma of two autistic boys), I learned about one type of autoimmunity caused by dairy, which is very frequent in autism. It's autoimmunity against folate (vitamin B9) receptors. The antibodies to this receptors block the entrance of folate from the blood into the central nervous system. This causes enormous damage to the brain. It can be tested in only one lab in America. Very high doses of folinic acid (not folic acid) are proposed as a solution for this autoimmune disorder as folinic acid can enter the brain using another pathway which is not very efficient.
