I have to say thank you Dr. Osborne for these tutorials. I've not only been able to help myself but it has encouraged further reading and research which has helped me more and my friends as well. All of us are doing well as a result of your generosity and time taken to produce these videos. Many blessings to you to equal the blessings you've given us.

Benfotiamine 600 mg per day reduced my pain completely (98%).The cause was alcohol and B vitamins deficiency which were already present, and one day i injured both my feet. And next day pain started.

Hey Peter, physical therapist here. Love your videos!! I listen most days. I'd like to revise your idea on plantar fasciitis: there's plenty of research showing that it's actually fasciosis.. not itis. They found it's a degenerative process of dead tissue most often caused by poor circulation through adducted Hallux (pointy toe box), and poor circulation from things like you would expect- prediabetes etc

Ugh Gabapentin is awful! I've been taking it for almost 8 years.... I have lowered the dose myself over time as my dr had me at 1200mg... ridiculous! The pain I have experienced has been from frequent seizure activity and severe migraines.

I have a cyst that is pressing on a nerve under my arm. Occupational therapy has helped release scar tissue that is causing it to be compressed. This has reduced the pain.

Hello from Glacier Washington. AhhHa, I guessed right! - "Why is it called that"? Myelopathy - degeneration of the myelin sheath. Typically within the spine. Radiculopathy - radiates from the nerve root where the nerve exits the spine. Peripheral neuropathy - nerve problem in the extremities. Demyelination can happen anywhere because the myelin sheath covers the entire length of the nerve, right? So, with nutritional neuropathy, the degeneration of myelin could begin anywhere, right? Thanks for teaching us Dr. Osborne. These videos are my favorite on KZbin.

This was great. I always thought neuropathy was mainly from the brain or spine. But with the fingers I still didn't know what could cause it.

1:01:00ish- re: sciatica & sitting posture To my understanding, "True sciatica" is from the spine and/or nerve roots. Radiating from there down. Piriformis Syndrome happens when the Piriformis and Gemellus Superior entrap the sciatic nerve passing between them. Some people have the sciatic nerve passing through the Piriformis muscle belly. Sometimes there are multiple correct answers to the problem. My life is proof you can have multiple problems at once.... One answer i have to "why piriformis syndrome", why it responds to massage therapy or other relaxation techniques for a moment but comes right back, is also on the subject of peripheral neuropathy and nerve entrapment. Both Piriformis and Gemellus Superior are members of "the deep 6" rotators of the femur. Hip joint. Coxal/femoral As individuals they primarily do rotation, but like the rotator cuff muscles of the shoulder, the group action is to help the ligaments keep the ball & socket joint together. Why would they "panic" & spasm so hard they pinch the sciatic nerve? Relax with treatment, & "panic" again when standing? A shortened, a hypertonic, and/or hypertrophic change to a different muscle called Psoas Major can do it by nerve entrapment of the Obturator nerve, and has the ability to distort the shape of the spine causing "true sciatica". Psoas Major has its own little branch of the femoral nerve for innervation, yet can entrap the part of femoral nerve it's partner Ilicaus needs. Quadraceps need it too, but that's not what I'm getting at with my "neuropathy dominoes" comment. Psoas Major can also entrap the Obturator nerve, weakening the Obturator Internus, and Obturator Externus muscles. Two members of "the deep 6". Now the hip joint is unstable, and Piriformis and Gemellus Superior have to work harder to keep the ball and socket together. So do the other two Quadratus Femoris, and Gemellus Inferior. The Piriformis and Gemellus Superior are right on the top of the ball & socket. Although the Piriformis gets the blame and the syndrome name, due to the location of the entrapment causing the sciatica symptoms, one cause of the problem, and solution to it may be Psoas Major. I call it "the trouble maker" for many reasons. One of those unpleasant massage treatments that feel better later. Best to ask for it by name, & find a specialist not shy about treating it. Do your stretches, & eat proper nutrition, as "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure". Neuropathy dominoes is only fun on paper, or with computer graphics, like on Dr. Nabil Ebraheim's KZbin channel. A great source to learn about nerve entrapment syndromes and more. "I hope this helps you".

With regard to pain management, try this triad: low dose aspirin, 500mg. Vitamin C, 50 mg. of Niacin Take every 4 hours as needed, but don't take this all the time Coffee enemas help with pain Acupuncture helps with pain For migraines: Vitamin B2 and the herb Butterbur Avoid excitotoxins like Aspartame (artificial sweetener) and MSG For back pain caused by compression: use traction, like pull ups on a bar, or laying down, a slant board, inversion table Sometimes Guafensen (Mucinex) helps with Fibromyalgia. GABA as from a vitamin store (non-prescription) is calming Earthing or grounding helps with pain caused by inflammation. Try grounding overnight while you sleep Sungazing helps with depression and insomnia. B6 helps with insomnia, hoarding, and focusing attention Avoid margarine, highly processed oils, fried foods in restaurants. These can cause inflammation. Use butter, ghee, coconut oil, good quality olive oil, flax oil instead.

Don't take folate if your chemo is the kind that creates a folate deficiency on purpose to kill the cancer cells. Ask your doctor if your chemo is that kind. Once you are off chemo, you can ask if you can supplement with folate to correct any deficiency.
@NancyBeegle4 жыл бұрын
Hmm... seems to me that cancer doesn't need the B vitamins to live or proliferate, so i have to question the logic behind this. Also, i'd think that it would make more sense to supplement with any nutrients that are depleted by medical treatments. Not that i agree with chemo or radiation to begin drug. IMHO

Lezlie Jones I don't have MS, but I suspect that overuse of excitotoxins like artificial sweeteners like Aspartame, MSG and stimulants can exacerbate it. A distant family member developed it and her family thinks she got addicted to diet products. Aspartame is a neurotransmitter. It shouldn't be added to our food and drinks.

Hello Dr Osborne, I followed with great interest for various clients of mine. Can a child of 8 years develop plantar fasciitis? Inflammation of the growth plate has been excluded for his heal pain. You said if pain streches from a more central part of the body down a limb, the cause is likely physical. So shoulder pain that travels down the arm, would x-rays or another imaging techneque be advisable if so far nothing physical has been found? Thank you for your insights.
