I concur.. . I am outside of chess world but I got interested and did some reading. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Pia is one of top women in chess in history and he is even better, legend in Spain at least.

I see she beat the new British prodigy, Bodhana Sivanandan, 8 yrs old, in the Blitz. They finished on the same total points, Pia's tie-breakers took her to the top of those on 8.5 PTS. I wonder what her impression of Bodhana was? Great to see Pia in action in Tournament play.

Yeah, blunders like a2-a4?? happen sometimes at the end of tournaments. It's not the greatest way to win a chess game but as they say in baseball: "they're all line drives in the box score" ( a win is a win). Thx for the recap - it's always a pleasure.

I think it is great how you and your folks get along. You have great relationships with them. My Dad was a 'put the baby out on a cold night to see if it survives' type of guy. That kind of set a bad tone for all of our family.

She’s gonna do great. Good luck! And you need to have more confidence! You saw that your mom needed to play the clever move king to h7! If she had then white would not have been able to infiltrate and develop some counter-play when the white queen entered the h file. Good game and good commentary.

I love Pia, have seen her irl, but never talked to her, think shes about 10 years older than me, but she is and was the sweetest girl, she was very shy once upon a time, not like Anna who loves attention.
