It seems like yesterday you made a video about this - probably when you put the first aftermarket ones on. I'll keep the classic industries ones in mind. Fortunately, the ones on my 06 Yukon with 127,000 miles are still good. The ones on my 06 Sierra extended cab with 90,000 miles were still good when I sold it to my uncle 2 years ago.

I did make a video explaining them but didn't do the install till now. I find trucks with b-pillars seem to be good. Extended cab trunks might have more flex putting more strain on the front pins.

If the hinge is not bolted to the truck or the door then it is glued on NOT welded. Good luck if you have to reglue one side or the other. Most body men will tell you it won’t hold nearly as well as the factory glue original.

@eduardovallejo4761
@eduardovallejo4761 2 жыл бұрын
No the hinges on the 99+ are not glued. They are plug welded where the bolt holes are located. Replacement requires drilling out the plug weld to remove the hinge.

I have a 99 Chevy 3500 I bought brand new door hinges for it and they bolt on with nuts but the old ones don't are they welded on? Do I have to take the dash out and there's studs back there? Or do I have to grind them off?
@AnthonyJ350

You'll have to pull the door away to drill out the welds. Need to scope out how much room you have to nut and bolt the new ones in.
