As a hardcore Eurofan, I loved how the movie acknowledged the serious, quality and beautiful aspect to Eurovision as well as the jokey aspect (my least fav part to Eurovision) Because Eurovision, contrary to what many people believe, has some fantastic and beautiful songs😁 All in all the film was great, and I specifically adored Husavik, such an outstanding song. A song originally sung by Melfest legend Molly Sandén btw, go give her discography a listen❤️

Eff. U.!! Most Americans don’t know anything about because it is never talked about in the media but it is an annual European music competition watched by millions with one contestant from each country. It is an honor to participate with a huge lead up time. The winning country hosts the following years competition. The movie portrays it pretty well with a healthy dose of humor in different aspects. This movie actually had multiple real Eurovision contest winners in it in the song along episode at the Russian party.
@escfan27064 жыл бұрын
E. U That’s a common misconception for people who have never seen it before but no it’s nothing like the voice. Each year around 40 countries choose songs and artists through internal selections or national finals. National finals being when multiple singers attempt to perform at Eurovision for that country. Each country can pick their song and artist in any way they like, as long as the song hasn’t been publicly released earlier than September of the previous year. There are two semis at Eurovision in which roughly 17 songs compete in each with 10 making it to the final based off of a jury and a televote. In the final the 20 qualifiers plus the big 5 (🇫🇷🇮🇹🇪🇸🇬🇧🇩🇪 countries that put the most money financially into the contest get a free pass to the final each year) Perform and a winner is decided by a combination of jury and televote. So in reality it’s actually very different to the voice, plus it’s being around 60 years longer than it😆 Began in 1956
