10/10! It's a rare day when I learn something new in the tech world, but by golly this Gmail address stuff I have no idea about and I'm so stoked to now be aware of it. Super helpful when you need to make 2 accounts on the same service or whatever but can't be bothered to make an actual new email account. Thanks for the hot tips, spectacular! 😄😸

But you're NOT making 2 accounts, it's still ONE SINGLE ACCOUNT, and all emails will go to the same inbox. It's one account, so why add more info to your email address to make it longer? For example, if you're doing this to have a "junk" account to use for free trials etc, if you do this, all that new junk mail you're gonna start getting is gonna go to YOUR EXISTING INBOX!!!!! And you can't just delete or stop using that new "junk" address, BECAUSE IT'S YOUR PRIMARY ACCOUNT!

It's a shame that plus addressing doesn't work on multiple sites, because the characters you're allowed to enter into the email address field when registering or signing up for things are usually parsed for security reasons and thus don't allow any special characters like the plus + character or < > etc, to stop code injection. In other words if your entered address doesn't match the standard format of 0-9, a-Z @ recognized mail server, it won't let you register.

I think a big part of the answer could come down to: being able to organize better, by tracking all entities that you've entered the "new" email address into. Then whenever you see this "new" email replied to in your inbox...you know its origin (unless of course, when receiving the new email back, it shows up as your original email; but I don't think it does.)

Hi Tasia, thanks for your informative videos. Sorry if this has been asked already, when setting up a streaming service they ask for a payment card, after you have used a card once they won't allow it to be reused. Is there a way around this that I'm unaware of? (Apart from having multiple cards). Many thanks.

I've had the same problem when making email accounts for a small charity - it seems that you now have to have separate billing and mobile numbers to create new accounts. I plan to try using a single account so we all have access to the files and emails, but using Tasia's '+' method to allow different people to select their mail. Not perfect, but we'll see how it goes!

Most people simply click 'Reply', and this will use the modified email address, so that you can search or add labels to help organise your inbox.

Hi Tasia, Great tutorial thanks, I want to use this technique for our Rodeo Committee, here in Stanthorpe, Queensland, at the moment we have one email and domain name for the secretary, treasurer, president and promotions who are all using the same inbox, such a mess, so hard to find emails. If you already have an email address added with a domain name, are you able to change the name that appears with that added domain name once it's created? or does it have to be re-added with the name wished to use with that email?
