Immigration and asylum are not the same thing. I know you will find this hard to understand so read it slowly. Asylum seekers have a right to have their claim processed and if it is rejected ( 50% are) they are deported. Immigration can be legal or illegal. Legal immigrants work and pay tax. Illegal immigrants work and contribute to the economy. Even Boris Johnson called for an amnesty for illegal immigrants in London when he was mayor in order to regularise their status because he recognised that London would grind to a halt if they were not contributing to the economy.

@VincentVance-j4w14 сағат бұрын
@@sarahknowler5348 Actually that is inaccurate. Consumer analysts Circana did a study last year of different foodstuffs and goods. When they combined the prices of 23 good together as a comparison France was much more expensive at 67.57 but Spain was only slightly more expensive at 52.16 compared to the UK at 51.72. However wagers are lower in Spain than in the UK so the cost of living is higher comparatively speaking. The reason France is much higher than any other EU country is because food prices are highly regulated in that country. Food prices rose by approximately 3.5 percent across the board after Brexit with the price of some good like milk seeing a 35p increase of a 4 pint carton and canned soup rose by an average of 30 pence a can. Prior to Brexit food prices were comparative to Germany which as the lowest food prices in western Europe. All this can be confirmed with a good search.

In the case of the Starmer government the state of public services is far worse than expected so they had to do to raise taxes. What Labour actually pledged was they would raise direct taxation on low to middle income workers and they haven't so its debateable whether they broke any pledges. Also the Tories took it out on pensioners when the removed the free TV licence fee for the over 75s. Labour at least have given pensioners a 300 pound annual rise in the state pension and less well off pensioners and those with underlying health conditions like my dad still get the 300 pound fuel allowance pay out.

🇬🇧Why, when talking about choices she had do they argue that the NHS get less? Why do they never say well let's NOT give away £12 BILLION away to other countries for their net zero? Then the £Billions to Ukraine the £4billion per year to fund the lifestyle of illegal migrants ...then half a billion to the WHO I could go on every time he goes abroad it's a giveaway. Why are the above not choices first to stop UK tax payers money going to others before them?
