The difference being Diana was barely in her 20’s married to someone who was already in love with someone else. Meghan was nearly 40 with husband who loves her dearly. Age and the nature of the marriage are Factors. You made a false equivalency.

Diana was big lair. Her own sister lady Jane was living on the grounds of Kensington palace and was neighbor of Diana as Diana's brother in law of private secretary of the Queen, her own grand mother was lady in waiting of queen mother, Diana's other sister Sarah became her lady in waiting and always accompanied her everywhere, she was allowed to invite her friends whenever she wanted and one of them was Sarah Ferguson (Diana set her up with Andrew). Diana was allowed to have her lovers at palace. How much more freedom did she wanted. She was also offered therapy and treatments for her mental and eating disorder but she herself refused it

She is telling the world that she felt like an outsider. Your missing the point and your being defensive. She was saying it was difficult to adjust to seeing and having this level of pageantry, opulence and wealth. The fact that you covered this is because she and her husband are frequently used as the scapegoats. This is done by the press because you are programing so that they will feel like the couple is spoiled. They aren't spoiled, they are different, they are in a relationship that would have been fround upon years ago.
