Thanks for giving us a try. The viscosity range for a 40 grade oil is a minimum of 12.5 to a maximum of 16.3 cSt. Also, the silicon and lead should drop over time, especially if you get a handle on the fuel dilution.

That’s what I needed to hear! The fuel dilution was an isolated incident but I let it go just to see what the results would look like in a less than idea situation. And it happened near the end of the break in time so I’m not too concerned about any long term damage. What a tool this report is! It’s going to get used more frequently on my GMC and Chevelle. I appreciate the response and the product!

@@MuscleCarSolutionsgood report card. I believe that kit is a wonderful tool to purchase after building an engine and in a couple of weeks I'm installing a new flat tappet hydraulic cam and this type of information is key to the life of the build. My thanks for the informative videos you post because they've given me the understanding I lacked during my previous attempts to build my own successful sbc.👌🏽😎

@steelcitycaprice.899 it’s a great report card on what happened and what condition the engine might be in. I like it as a long term tool also. That’s why I think I’ll do the one after the extended break in and one on the first round of GP-1 to go in the engine. Good data for sure! Best of luck with your build!

What's your thoughts on Lucas hot rod oil? Is it worth a try or stick to Driven GP-1?
@MuscleCarSolutions Жыл бұрын
Lucas makes good product. If you’re currently using GP-1, I’d stick with it. It’s base oil is the Pennsylvania grade crude that made Kendall famous. No one else uses that oil in the aftermarket.
@pacbrian3809 Жыл бұрын
you know i thought that was a little high at first but really if your beating on an expensive engine i want to know if its taking it not when a rod goes flying out the side of the block
@MuscleCarSolutions Жыл бұрын
That’s certainly a big consideration! The data is invaluable.

I live in Saudi Arabia .. what do you recommend for my 1978 GMC Sierra classic oil do I have to use, I have a big block engine 454? I appreciate it

I know there are distributors in your country of good quality oils. Driven and Lucas for sure. Might try to find one of those. On a side note, I was in the kingdom in November 2019 in Riyadh for the seasons festival. There is a video on this channel of that event. Very well done!
