You did a great job. I would love to see you use a real cold knife. I have done Windshields for ten years the only power tool we use is a ambush. Have never used any type of wire or cord system. I would love to learn but there are very expensive. Me and my boss did a 1549 in 15 mins one day. That was pulling the truck in, completely remove the wiper and cowling. Take out the windshield rest and reinstall the wipers , cowling and vacuum the floors and seats and wipe down the car. And pulled my out of the shop. Great videos

Great video! I have a question regarding windshield installing cups and urethane guns. Which cups do you recommend? I was looking to purchase the WRD Pro6-B glass handling cups. I see you mainly use the PowerPush. Would you recommend this over say Dewalt or Milwaukee gun?
@AlfredosAutoGlassRepairCorona7 жыл бұрын
1 tech I have both Milwaukee and Powerpush. If you are using sausage urethane I would recommend you the Milwaukee gun because with the Powerpush is hard to turn the gun.
@kevinpeters23097 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what you mean by the PowerPush is hard to turn? Have you ever used the Dewalt 20 volt gun? I have several 20v Dewalt products and would be nice to just purchase a gun.

1 tech when I apply the urethane and get to the corners it’s hard to turn the gun to continue. Definitely doable but not easy.

MidCali831 I have done a ton of 1217s. Easiest way for me is just using the electric EQ on the whole thing. I cut them out just like Alfredo does in this video but then I even use the EQ on the top from the inside. Just make sure to lubricate very good! That encapsulation around them can be a pain. He Alfredo what do you use for a lubrication? I use a 1/2 cup of Super Seven degreaser and top off my bottle with water. Keeps the blade cool and it’s great for wiping down dashboards.

Really cool tools that you're using but I can already tell that this would take too long to be worth buying that tool. The simple design of this windshield should not require this much effort, just "eye" the top corners to align with the rain guards and make sure the U-Lip molding is flush to the top portion of the pinchweld. But we all have our own ways of doing things.
