They need to stop putting those stupid cameras and sensors on a little Miata sports car. The windshield is already so small, nobody wants those sensors on a pure sports car.

CAREFUL: make sure the seat belt latches don't get caught under the seat back when you put the seat back back in place. After a couple complaints from rear passengers that they couldn't find the center seat belt receptacle, I found it jammed under the back seat frame. Wouldn't budge. Had to remove the seat back again (which why I'm watching your video) to get the latch out, and found some-fer sharp pieces under there had punched holes in both sides of it. Still works; all is well. THANK YOU for posting such a helpful video. I needed to access the alarm box to get my door code. So nice to have that functionality now. You do a good job of explaining things.

Just a heads up to anyone that's gotta do this. All you have to do is slide the shorter side of the glass in first. It goes in way easier. Tired this way in the video and it would not go in properly.

Great video. Thank you for posting. This was a huge help fixing my mirror as the dealer broke the clip when installing a new windshield. It’s also leaking water from the mirror onto my dash which is the next problem to solve.

If you're replacing the screen, could you leave the molding in place and fiber line (p10) the screen out by letting it pass under the molding and releasing it after the glass is out?

@@mikediamond257 yes its possible but sometimes the urethane oozes out and the fiber line doesn’t stay under the glass but I definitely done it and it works.

Which way would you prefer to remove.. string out with the top molding or remove the molding first? It’ll be my first so I was thinking of stringing it out with the molding in place. Also I ordered the molding but it also came with a black plastic or stiff rubber, what is that for?

Is the "little slot" your referring to the little lip part or is it something the metal clips slides into? I replaced mines but the metal clip wont lock in place to keep the mirror sturdy

Alfredo is a bad ass!! I’ve owned and operated a autoglass shop In north Texas for 38 years. Much respect sir for someone who is not a hack like 90% of the autoglass installers. Especially the ones with the catchy jingle lol!
