Thanks Ash, always love your review vids. Didn’t they do Crusade: Pariah Nexus about this time last year? In fact didn’t you review it??? If you count Crusade: leviathan on release then they literally are releasing one crusade every year! But absolutely, my group are playing through this exactly as you suggest and celebrating with a 2k battle at Warhammer World at the end of the year. Loving the map, we will definitely be doing this instead of Pariah Nexus lol.

I actually dislike that they are trying to shoehorn epic characters into crusade. Crusade should really be about your own guys and a be place to escape from the endless parade of epic heroes you see in normal games.

I am always in favor of adding narrative flair to my games AND having a reason to play smaller games. I'll probably pick this up.

Something that I would to try out: taking these campaign rules, and using the OPR Grimdark rules. No one in my player group wants to play 10th edition, but everyone has 1-5 combat patrols, and REALLY want to use their models. I guess, is that a viable use of both systems, so we get the ease of OPR with the narrative 40K always the 11th hour?

As a dedicated narrative player, this looks awful. There's so much between-game book keeping and resource management but it doesn't change the fact the games themselves have little to no narrative flavour to them. The only thing I see here that I like is the return of Deep Strike Mishaps, which will hopefully be the standard for 11th edition.

Yea, I wish they would make the games more flavorful instead of adding more work surrounding it. Oh, and make the battles smaller. Games should start at 500 points.

Nothing makes a large expansive setting like making a few names characters the crux of all narratives, I will never value a narrative story over settings for games. Character narrative is fine but the setting should be wide scope for my taste

Yeah I don't really see how this book is fixing one the biggest issues 40k/GW games in general has right now. Which are the boring and dry as all hell missions. You'd think a narrative focused expansion would delve deeper into that, instead of heaving more out of game work onto people. Looks like you are still playing games of shuffling your minis around the 6 acetate circles on the table.
