I love Legions Imperialis for the scale, ( I'm an old Space Marine/Epic Armageddon player.) However, I also really like how the books update both armies at once and I have all of the rules for everything instead of forcing me to wait and collect individual army books. I remember early Warmachine releases were like this, where all four armies got new stuff every book release. No one felt left out and I could keep up on all the rules. Keep it coming GW.

Really appreciate you continuing to cover LI, there’s not a lot of big channels doing that. Really excited by this new book though I don’t know how many people in our local community are keeping up with the releases. Two expansion books in the first nine months is a lot. P.s I’m sure you know it but this video has a really annoying audio crackle/pop going on throughout. Made the video too uncomfortable to watch with headphones

We have a regular group of 8 of us doing the Great Slaughter campaign and it’s the most fun I’ve had although the downside is as a Solar player I kind of have to go Infantry heavy to stand a chance but Tallarn has got us all excited to just put tanks on the table and have a blast that way!!! As much as I love infantry this game looks way better with armour and vehicles.

Thanks for this video review! With your review and summation, I don't feel so bad about not yet getting the previous expansion. I havent got past cleaning up the infantry sprues yet from the starter box! Too much on the go ...as usual! Hope to see a few more battle reports in the future! Thanks again!

Man did GW ever drop the ball during the launch of this game. It had a decent amount of hype built up, but the availability issues killed all of that, at least in my local community. I've painted my Iron Warriors army but I've had very little luck trying to get anyone to play against. And if I'm allowed to vent a bit, I really hate the f-ton of weapon profiles and special rules associated with the units. The core rules of this game are really tight, quick and playable, but in the 3-4 games I've played, it all bogs down into trying to find the relevant rules and statlines. I've tried printing out some reference material but there's like 10 pages of just weapon statlines because it's not enough to have just one entry for Lascannon, every unit with a lascannon seems to get a different line you need to reference separately! The Great Slaughter was a great expansion, filling out many of the gaps left by the core book, but I'm really struggling to find the motivation to grab this new one. Instead, I find myself grumbling about just going back to Net Epic Armageddon.

I mean the Old World is doing almost exactly the same thing with the Arcane Journals? At least this approach has a single Rulebook (with the armies in it) instead of Rulebook + 2 Forces Books + Whatever Arcane Journals? So far Legions has been out three months longer and only has 3 total books out for it. Old World I think has six now?

Old World hasn't even released all of their factions yet, and they are mostly 20 plus year old models, with many of them being resin or metal. They're slowly going that route.
