Looks complicated at first. But you basically just have hits and blocks, those cancel out. Then the exclamation points are mostly used for activating abilities. It's honestly not bad at all once you get to know your characters and such.

Are the minis plastic or metal? A barrier to getting into Infinity (for me at least) was the metal minis, how fiddly they were to put together and how easily bits broke off

I watched an LGS demo of this starter. The models are very nice. The units seemed to "do their thing". The orcs hit like trucks, the armored guys were tough and the Wizard incinerated people. Overall I like it but tinge mechanic was odd

It looks interesting but I have to be practical when considering new games. As such, my sci-fi itch remains scratched by Infinity and Necromunda, and AoS (I apologise for nothing) is my fantasy go to. I have to weigh up time, money and general living expenses. Domesticity can be very disappointing sometimes.

Saw the playthrough and interviews over on OTT. Looks interesting but the cost for what’s in the box is too high in my opinion. That and I don’t care for the siocast plastic they use. Good review though.

The game killer for this will be the glacial speed in which models are releasing and how slow each faction will get our. Need at least basic stuff for four of them fast or it'll be very dull and not hold attention. Can't do the one faction at a time trickle for months like in the old days.

I think the bases are 30mm. So slightly more than an inch. They definitely could have just used inches.

Bases are 30mm, strides are 15mm. A base is 2 strides in length. Speculation is that this was a combo of not wanting to have to keep inches and cm measurements like their do for Infinity, and also, based on movement rules and whatnot, wanting the bases to be a multiple of the measuring unit. Knowing a base is 2 stride means when you charge 10, you can measure to see if you are within 12 strides to know if you can make it before you move.

I really love Corvus Belli rules design and Infinity looks amazing but these minis just do not speak to me. All I can think of is imagine if they made Warcry, those look great and I don't care for the rules. That said I hope one of the other armies turns to work out for me. Would love for this to be a success.

I applaud a fantasy game between skirmish and mass combat. I just fear they're not rolling it out properly. 4 factions (minimum) with a Leader+Solo+Unit starter set 1st month. All 4 get a release a month. Release a new leader months 2 & 4 in addition to another 'regular' release. Drop additional factions #5-8 after 5 or 6 months and follow same schedule. Within a year you have a fledgling game that can focus on broadening the options moving forward. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I wish Infinity had cards. That is the main reason I never got into that game. Except for the disappointing Orc faction, this looks way better than most other mini games out there. Way better than any G W game.

I'm with Tabletop minions, I'm not a fan of customized dice. I would have been much happier with a D10 system with action bar like Wrath of Kings used. Game seems decent but I may just pick up some minis for one page rules.

Work and the initial release schedule have made it a little hard to play more (just not enough factions yet), but that should change soon with Adventures finally shipping to backes and having enough Scions models to jumpstart the third faction.

The name seems like a problem to me. Yes, the company is called that but in Latin, also their first mini range was called like that 20 years ago. Sure, cool. Also: their biggest competition on the market has game with an almost identical name, and I don't need to tell you that name because you already know it. The comparison is inevitable. Either somebody buys it by mistake, taking it for the other game. Or they notice it on the shelf, and immedietely smirk, like you smirk seeing an "Adibas" brand shoe. Neither looks like a positive outcome if you want to build credibility.

​@@kentonsheppard1559 Neither game is complex. They're just both written in that trademark non-English European way that makes them confusing even before getting translated to English. And that translation makes the rules utterly incomprehensible. This looks like a fun game but I'm not touching it with a ten foot pole. It's not worth the exasperation of having to deal with the ruleset. And I'm European myself, and I work in game localization so I can fill in the blanks more often than not. I can only imagine how it would feel for an average native English speaker to try to read and comprehend this stuff.

If you are looking for a fantasy game similar to Infinity, I recommend checking out Eldfall Chronicles. Beautiful miniatures and a d20 rule set that’s definitely inspired by Infinity but with its own unique twist

I've read the rules and I don't see overly complex elements. In fact I think this is easier to learn than infinity and is rather stripped of unnecessary complex/complicated rules compared to other big games. Also reading the English translation wasn't hard at all @toferkrz946

I was really excited for this game and, for the most part, still am. I'm a bit disappointed with the "bespoke dice" choice. Custom dice that I have to have in order to play their game, unlike Infinity where I need D20's that I can purchase on my own. I do own Aristea and I didn't have as much problem with it since it was a closed box board game. Warcrow is supposed to be a skirmish level wargame. I hope this game works out and I wish CB all the success with this game. I am just not excited about keeping track of special dice that I can only use for this specific game.

I think you are looking at the bundle pack with the big hardcover book and extra mini. It retails for 129.95 Euros from Corvus Belli directly, and many third parties have it discounted.

The thing is that the bases are a multiple of the this measuring unit. Together with the way movements works in this game makes moving and measuring really straight forward and not as fiddly as in other games. But this is not obvious when you first hear about it so I can understand that it can turn people off. They also could have used a multiple of an inch for the same effect but then you would have weird base sizes what makes the hobby aspect worse I think

Was quite interested, love the idea of all you need to play in one box, but then i saw it costs 100 GBP - this is some GW level of pricing, but the minis are not even in hard plastic, plus thats just my personal opinion byt the minis dont even look that coool, generic'ish human like dudes, and orcs that escaped straight from world of warcraft..... I think ill pass for now.

Generic humans vs generic orcs with an overly complicated game system and expensive prices in a generic fantasy setting...that sounds like a formula to fail. The market is already bloated with them and fantasy is definitely not as attractive as in the past.
