That's fair, but remember, you can make sweet potato cheaply and they are super easy to grow. One of the largest largest studies of life expectancy over a 50 year time period in Okinawa found that a diet of mostly sweet potato (70% of calories), with little meat and fish and light exercise allowed them to have the highest life expectancy in the world, with the highest amount of centurions (over100 year olds), plus at that age they were still physically fit and could ride their bikes around town and do gardening. Just cut then into fry shape and put then in the oven with some virgin olive oil. When processed foods came to Okinawa the average life expectancy dropped by 7 years and people got all sorts of health issues.
