This is absolutely without a doubt my favorite EQ on the market. Every commercial studio should have one and anybody with a home studio that can afford one needs one as well.
I think a lot of people can get into trouble with EQ's that leave their mixes sounding less than ideal but the 8200 will make your tracks sound better even if you're using it in a way that's not normal. Absolutely incredible.

Brilliant demonstration of a) how to surgically remove horrid frequencies; b) how good hardware sounds; c) how good George Massenburg's ears are and lastly d) how much I still have to learn.

+Christian Angelo Nilsén That becomes easy when you mix on a constant basis for a long time. I can pick that up too and i'm only 23 years old. I'm constantly mixing and mastering daily for my clients and the constant amount of orders are good thing for me. I've never been overwhelmend by too many deals or to be sad about the lack of "vacations", that's because i'm getting better in a much more quicker way if i don't lose my focus. You should try it though. Make/mix music constantly and you're easily going to pick frequencies out.

Very good. Best example I’ve seen on YT of how eq works in the real world. Not just “how do we make this instrument sound good?” but “how do we make this fit with the other elements in the mix”. And the GML8200 is an incomparably good bit of kit.

Hear that? I do. Bet your artist does, too. Worth it to watch this video just for that. The positive affirmation, along with the new agey piano is absolute gold. I never felt so at peace with the universe.

I got a 8200 and refurbished it. Placed buffercaps on the power rail inside the EQ, because i don't want the PSU cable and connector to ever degrade the power. And i must say, after beeing very sceptical, that i really fell in deep love with the GML8200! Its an eye opener! Or Ear opener! :-)

Wow I would love to read and understand more about this. Do you mean that you don’t want it to affect the sound and how the unit works? Or do you mean that it might cumulatively degrade how long the electronics lasts itself? Or both. I would like to understand this and know if this is a worthwhile mod if I was to acquire a GML down the line. Thanks for your time.

Great video. I didn't expect notching peaks with a parametric to be so uplifting. It's amazing what the background music does. It's awesome hearing him sweep the frequency band. It has a similar thing to my Moog Voyager's filter that I haven't heard yet in plugin land.

The GML is adding some serious width to the piano as well, most likely due to the accuracy of the pots not being identical on each side, but still it adds some nice mojo
