My guess with Qwilfish is that the devs knew that players would want to use all the new Hisui Pokemon competitively when Home was updated, so their base forms are all in Paldea already since regional forms get loaded in the same dex file. Maractus: Same goes this Maractus for it being also a cactus Pokemon as well. 3. Rapidash: Spain is also known for their Spanish horses and the fact they're not in Paldea confuses still. And 4. I have to say the pokemon that I most miss in Paldea is Boltund because Galgos are VERY popular and VERY important in Spain.

I'm impressed with your attempt to pronounce Van Gogh's name. It's not right yet but it's a lot closer than most native english speakers get.

About Komala, we can say that it is very fitting to Portugal, if you consider the Komala body being the tree (like the Komala shiny theory says).

Funny you mention "exploration" as the dex theme, since i think SVs so pushing exploration,what with the whole treasure hunt and whatnot.

Camerupt is there because there are camels in some parts of the Canary Islands (dunes), which are a part of Spain bruv

I'd be inclined to disagree with the last point about overdoing the colonialism aspect in galar and paldea. Given the lasting impact from Britain and Iberia combined on the entire world you could argue they're under selling it.

The Sudowoodo entry got me thinking; do you reckon we can tell what’s ’not’ going to be the next generation by seeing who’s in the Pokédex office the previous one? E.g. Sudowoodo is here so Gen X probably won’t be Greece or Germany; Camerupt means not Northern Africa; Komala not Australia, etc. I don’t know if there’s any precedent for that

A leaker suggested the region to be an archipelago. Greece is a possibility.

I personally feel Paldea’s dex(both new & old pokémon) lacks focus on Spain & Portugal and instead went in a “generally latin american & european” direction.

As a spaniard myself, I also felt a bit let down from the lack of trully iberian inspired pokemon, only one of the starters resembled an endemic animal, and almost all other new pokemon either came from south america or france, as if you couldn't have a full pokedex based on spain and portugal folklore, culture and ecology. We didn't even have any islands, and the canaries and balears are really unique and famous to justify having them. I get that the four first gens were inspired almost exclusively on japan, and so the majority of pokemons are japanese oriented, so we were never going to get the same amount of iberian pokemon, but even so, I was expecting more. And im glad that people from south america have now pokemon based on their culture, dont get me wrong, obviously if you have a mainly spain oriented region, some south american pokemon make a lot of sense, but you could maybe use those designs for a mexico/south america region, and diferentiate both places better

I'm pretty sure Tyranitar's only here because it has a paradox form. Qwilfish is a similar case, it's only here because all Pokemon with Hisuian forms/evolutions are here, making transferring those forms from LA through Home easier.
@Stequal2Ай бұрын
If i can argue one thing: Garchomp and Tyranitar are psuedo-kalos because of the megas? Maybe? Thats just a theory. AAAAA POKETHEORY

Would be nice to have one of those multivideo series about all pokemon abilities explained. Like how and why each ability does what it does and why each ability fit their pokemons. Like Geodude and sturdy. Rocks are sturdy, and some rocks need more than just one strike to break them

I'd be super keen to see a New Zealand based region as well. Particularly to see how Pokemon could utilise Maori mythology with the shape-shifting taniwha for legendary pokemon, one of the islands being the giant fish Maui pulled from the ocean, And then there's the now extinct Moa (largest flightless bird), Giant penguin, and giant shark which could be fantastic for a legendary trio like Suicune and co, or they could be the fossil pokemon.

Another fun fact about Portugal and Tea! The reason we call Tea, Tea, is because the Portuguese word for tea is Tcha and when they were labeling the bags for the trade ships they didn’t want to take the time to write it out so they just used the first letter and marked all the bags with a big “T” The tea showed up, people saw the T and started calling it exactly that! It still is crazy that Portugal use to be the World power for so long thanks to the trade routes! Lots of cool history there!

I'm from New Zealand and we have quite a lot of cool creatures, for instance we have no native mammals except for bats, we have a plethora of birds that could fit many lines, a Piwakawaka type companion pokemon( because they are very friendly and come up to humans) or a Tuatara based pseudo-legendary, the evil team could utilise all the pest species that have been introduced here, such as dogs, weasels, cats, rabbits, hedgehogs etc. Also a Kuri based dog line could be awesome aswell. I'd also argue Alolan Rattatta would fit really well because of the whole introduced species thing.

This definitely could have a "because it's in Legends Arceus" category, which explains a bunch of Pokémon including some ones you had to make a stretch to find, since they had new forms or evolutions that hadn't yet been in a more traditional game, so: Qwilfish, Sneasel, Growlithe, Stantler, Scyther, Basculin, Voltorb, Ursaring, Petilil, Zorua, Braviary, Goomy and Avalugg plus the starters. I wouldn't be surprised if we get an Enamorus 7* raid event at some point in SV. P. S. I LOVED your Galar video so I'm really happy to see one for Paldea 😊

Respect to the hippopotamus in paldea. In my hometown theres a large park with hippopotamus statues because in that place we found hippos fossils, theres a recreation mold made out of concrete next to the hippos. Im from Terrassa in Catalunya, north east of spain, and theres other small sites where similar fossils have been found. So yeah, no current hippos live here NOW, but they did a long time ago.

19:00 I'd also like to say that all the regions so far have been regions whose main language is one of those the game is translated into. Kanto, Johto, Hoen, Sinnoh = Japanese; Unova, Alola, Galar = English; Kalos = French; Paldea = Spanish. So I think it wouldn't be improbable to assume that the next new generation would be set in a country that speaks these previous languages or somewhere that majorly speaks Chinese, German, Korean or Italian
@Aster_IrisАй бұрын
Aww man I'm sad that you didn't mention that a big reason the Rockruff line is present in Paldea is how much Spain contributed to werewolf cinema. They had a huge chokehold on the subgenre throughout the 60s and 70s. :(
