GO BATTLE WEEKEND WAS RUINED BY BIOME "LAG"? Pokémon GO Needs to Fix This...

We just had a GO Battle Weekend for Rivals Week, and plenty of players were reporting issues with PVP in relation to the new Biomes System. In this video, I'm going to test it out myself and see if the issues are apparent, and then discuss what Niantic should be doing with Pokémon GO!

Bro, every 10 seconds, I dropped frames and / or lagged, I refreshed game data and re-downloaded game assets, and it still lagged . This game is in shambles

Not just PvP, the overall game is horrible. Me and my girlfriend have a catching bug, where the balls either fly away, or i can't throw them near the Pokemon

I noticed a lot of hitching and framerate drops lately. On my Galaxy Fold 3, I never experienced anything like it before the Biome update.

You have to turn off 'native refresh rate' for now - that fixes the ball flying off screen not not throwing at all. Hopefully they fix the underlying problem, but at least that's a temporary fix that's worked for me (so far) haha 😊👍✌️🌱

I coincidentally got a new phone a few weeks ago. I've been using both the old and new phone interchangeably for Pokemon Go while I finish setting up each device for my needs. The game works great on the new phone, but on the older phone, simply catching pokemon in the wild can be a lagging mess with the biomes. The old phone handled the game perfectly fine before the game update.

Battle League was no different for me than before the biome update. It has always been inconsistent. My phone that struggles on the catch screen can do everything else just fine. Interesting that *now* all the comments are nice to the people who say they are having lag/frame rate issues. Where's the chorus of just go buy a new phone? :P

I’ve done maybe 5 PvP battles. Like I said once before in another video, the rewards aren’t good enough, and if you win too many, it’s literally rigged to make you lose no matter what pokemon you use. Once you win about 10 in a row, you won’t win anymore until the algorithm changes again. It’s crazy. I’m only PvP because to finish the research.

Yep, game no longer functions on any acceptable level after biome update. I lost a LOT of matches during the battle weekend from framerate dropping causing the screen to freeze during a charged move, and it not detecting me getting all the orbs because the screen was frozen. This happened CONSTANTLY.

I had a strange bug, I was doing my 10th battle, the game crashed, and when I returned I had 100battles research page done.

Galaxy S10 here and it runs the game fine except for pvp. Ever since the graphics update, pvp has been a godawful mess with some of the worst lag and frame drops I've ever experienced in GBL in the past 4 years. Just doing the basics like attacking, hitting bubbles on a charged attack, and seeing the opponent's charged attack just aren't happening because the game keeps hitching.

On another note - for anyone having trouble with the ball flying off screen or just not working at all when trying to catch a pokemon; You have to turn off 'native refresh rate' for now - that fixes the ball flying off screen or not throwing at all. Hopefully they fix the underlying problem, but at least that's a temporary fix that's worked for me (so far) haha 😊👍✌️🌱

Literally just booted PVP right before starting this video. 4 matches in the lag and glitching started, eventually crashed the game. Amazing.

The other issue iv had is during raids when I circle lock and throw a ball it can go though the Pokémon time to time

I had several battles that froze at the very end, and I believe it was because I was involved in a Party through Party Play! As soon as I left the party, the problem disappeared and all went more or less smoothly from then on. Both of us in the party were having the same problem. Both older iPhone : 8 and 11.

3 Thoughts on the weekend - 1) I am glad that Go Battle Weekend is only once a quarter. I don't like PvP and only do PvP since there are good rewards for 10 fights. 2) I was VERY disappointed since the Master League was not available (usually all three Leagues are available from memory) and only one League (Ultra) was "open". The Great League was a limited Cup event. If they had all 3 open plus 1-3 Cups, that would be much better for all players. 3) I didn't experience lag, but I don't doubt others did. I can see that the new biomes would cause lag as they seem memory intense.

you can toggle advanced graphics on or off but its not about just having that option they simply need t o fix alot of bug with the games since day 1...

This game has been frustrating as hell to say the least battle league is Astroious en the lag the frame drops then randomly be playing the game will literally kick me out of the whole game and make me relog back in. Then when I do my daily incense it lag tremendously where I can't even click the pokemon then it spawns away and keeps telling me network error when I have full bars and 5g. Niantic can never get anything right when they do they ruin a lot more in the process. What do you expect from a company that fires half of there employees and then sit behind a wall quiet and dont even test the product before releasing it worldwide. The biome is a great idea Niantic just needs to put a little more time into them instead of rushing and then listen to all the backlash they still wouldn't care because I feel like they are doing all this on purpose so players can move on to a newer game they are making or something just dont understand how they have all these people who work for them that are game developers and engineers you would think they knew how to fix all these bugs and glitches.

If the battle mechanics were the same as they were in the original Pokémon game I would be playing more. It feels kinda pointless to just midlessly tap the screen and hope you get lucky.

Yes lots of problems since Biomes. My iphone12 freezes quite a bit. I turned off the graphics to help a bit. Also my iPhone8 crashes often especially with raids. I would rather not have Biomes and a stable game.

While I can't work due to my disability, I kind of know what you mean about being too busy for Pokemon Go, with too many distractions. The weather here in Meva from September last year up to now has been so miserable that it even took out the internet in my area thus I had to take a long break from Pokémon Go. Luckily, the bad weather has finally started to clear up this month.

yeah, I saw people unable to use fast attacks, my own attacks not going through and it wasn't due to CMP. I had multiple unearned wins and a bunch more unearned losses. Why is it the players who are daily and pay money for events have to be the beta testers? Didn't Hanke say the game was set for another decade? 1 eff up a month for every update... Sunday was a bit better but still had issues.

I have issues but It does not affect Pvp for me or my phone in terms of lag but when I go to campfire or the leader battles the game is breaking and Niantic needs to fix it. I like the fact that Bounsweet is the comm day not that I prefer pikipeck to be the comm day either. The biomes I think are amazing but I think they should have suited it to the types of Pokémon like poison, fighting, fire types, fairy types, and psychic Pokémon. Other then for normal, grass, bugs and etc. I have so many green premium battle passes that if I was losing them i wouldn’t care and my phone is an iPhone 8 S and I got a new case on it. Apple companies tend to treat their customers very fairly unlike Niantic in this game though I think it is by San Fran and that the fact that the service is not so ‘golden’. Limited sample size. I noticed that my opponent and/or I missed fast attacks just about every match. Every 10 matches or so, it would occur during heavy attack and I missed the EXCELLENT.

Here is the thing, when you are low level lag like this doesn’t matter. But when you are a high tier player and you have constant 1 turn lags it can lose you the game! Even in your game there were 1 turn lags.

I experienced some pvp lag Saturday and I use a galaxy S23. Definitely been bored with these recent events 🥱🥱🥱😴😴😴
