How could the audience NOT be tearing down the walls??? There was enough energy and talent coming off that stage to launch the space shuttle. I saw the Go-Go’s play Pittsburgh in 1984. It felt like the roof came off the Civic Arena that night. I was 15. I’m now 55 and I remember that night like it was yesterday! FIRE!

Agreed...I watched this on the night and over 40 years later can vividly remember my disgust at the audience's non-participation...there was a lot of snobbishness towards US bands at the time - plus no-one had seen an all-female outfit...

Sometimes UK crowds can be jaded to the point of apathy. This show was a case in point. If it were Blondie they'd be bouncing off the walls. They love that band.

I was lucky enough to meet her at a concert at Irvine Meadows in the early 80's. My girlfriend and I were sitting rather high up in the seats below the lawn when these two people walked up and sat in front of us. I instantly recognized Kathy and her date... Clem Burke, the drummer from Blondie. At one point they turned around and chatted with us. Great memory.

@@danberkman8227 Love Kathy's bass lines. But speaking as a bassist myself going from guitar to bass is like going from playing a drum set to playing tambourine. It's not that difficult of a transition.

Not really, they're often flat/sharp as with a large percentage of live acts. If they did a vocal take like that in the studio it would be scrapped. That's why a lot of artists used to spend a week or more laying down a vocal track for one song.

I am 54 and it makes me frustrated and sad to see comments like this. I bet you were between 16 and 24 when the Gogos were popular, and those years are your comfort zone and you won't venture outside of it. There is fantastic music in every single decade. There is also complete garbage in every single decade. Look at ANY top 40 chart from ANY year, and you will see complete garbage on it. Top 40 is like McDonalds - not premium quality stuff, but it is a representation of the average taste of consumers. I am hesitant to suggest any bands because I imagine your mind is already made up about them before even hitting play, but why don't you check out a few tunes from The Beths? Fun, upbeat rock music. Great harmonies. Talented players. And that is just one band. There is ALWAYS great music out there. You just have to be willing to listen to it and look outside of the Spotify top 40 for it.
