I am working this go kart Monster Moto MM80
Go kart starts but wont move FIXED
It came to me in a no start condition, covered in mud, water in the gas tank, rusted clutch, rusted chain and more. I got it running but then it would not move. I disassembled, cleaned & lubed the clutch to get it going.

I have this same go kart but ive been trying to find answers on this for so long, the problem is when i pick up the back of the go kart the wheels move and the chain and clutch also move with it i dont really know whats wrong

@jimiexplorationchannel2719, Thank you for stopping by. On the go kart in this video the clutch was rusty & very dirty. I do not work on go karts but was asked to get this one running. If yours is not moving check the clutch. It may be dirty, need oiling or just worn out. Be careful not to get any oil in the clutch drum or on the shoes. Let me know if this helped you out. What was the rust remover you used in the gas tank? Is it in your Amazon store? This was my first time ever seeing inside a clutch. I also didn't know a clutch like that needs regular maintenance. Oiling it all as needed regularly would be a pain and most, like me, probably don't know it's necessary in the first place. Looks like brake cleaner is pretty handy. Great work, Joe! Little John looked like he had a blast. He's gonna want one for his birthday or Christmas now! I hope you or his parents are ready for that! 😂🤣😂🤣😂

Sorry I missed listing this in the upload, here is what I used Evapo-Rust amzn.to/3QGBbXx This was the first time I used it in a gas tank and it did the job. I first put gravel into the tank & shook it for a couple of minutes then flushed it with water then added this product. Once the rust looked like it was dissolved I rinsed it with water & dried it out with an air compressor. There are products that you can coat the inside of the tank once you do this but I have not tried them. This is one, but I did not try it: POR-15 Fuel Tank Sealer amzn.to/3SPar9d I did not have any information on this unit & went online for the owners manual (about the only time I read one LOL) & found out about the regular oiling maintenance. The specs for the valves ( missed videoing adjusting ) I found on a site. That is all I hear now, " can I ride it "? NO " then when "? Yep going to have to get Johnny something with an engine to ride. Stay well, Joe Z

@@JOEZEP54 Thanks for the link. I'll get some Evapo-Rust from your store. The POR-15 product will probably work, but the main chemist and partner left and started his own company called HBS Coatings and makes products that supersede everything POR-15 has! If you didn't know, POR stands for Paint Over Rust. KBS Coatings makes all of that line and makes them them better and has a tremendous line of products for everything under the Sun. They release something new every few weeks. I get emails from them about sales and new products. If POR-15 makes a gas tank rust remover and sealer, then so does KBS Coatings because he created everything POR has. Check 'em out. I knew Johnny would want one! 🤣 Maybe go in on it with the parents and kind of split the bill. If he keeps it at home, he'll prolly bring it with him every time he comes to your house so he can ride it in that big yard, up and down the hill. Put a mower deck underneath so he can cut the grass while he's at it. 😝

Thank you for the HBS info. If I keep the Blazer for much longer I will be treating the frame. I let Johnny cut the middle of the lawn with the rider. Had to add a makeshift pedal. He has be asking for the last 3 wks, "when are we going to cut the grass"? With the weather we had I did not mow for almost 2 months.

@@JOEZEP54 All POR and KBS Coatings rust sealers need a top coat to protect them from the Sun's UV Rays. If you only do the frame, that should be OK without a top coat, but I'm going to top coat the underside of my deck anyway. KBS also makes NuMetal, which is a putty that dries into metal which can be molded, grinded, sanded, drilled and tapped, if you ever need to fill cracks and holes. You can use a wire mesh to give it something to be molded into from both sides to dry and then grind it flat, but I won't mind small humps on the deck. I haven't started using my KBS products on my Troy-Bolt Rider yet, but I bought NuMetal to repair cracks and holes in the deck and maybe for the steering column shaft for that stupid bearing that wears out if the hex slot for it is damaged. The steering is very sloppy, so I bought a steering column shaft, a drive gear and that bearing. This thing sat in the rain and weather for 6 years after he bought a zero turn, so it needs a lot of repair because of rust. They also have an air pressure sprayer to apply the products and will give instructions on how to thin the products to apply them that way. These guys are very helpful over the phone and usually very easy to reach when you call. They advised me to get mason jars to store the products after taking the lid off the can because any product left in the lid rim or on the lid will seal the lid to the can. I bought a 4-Pack from Walmart for that. They also have a spray paint style can of Paint Saver Coating Preserver to keep the products fresh in storage. The can says Argon, but I thought is is Nitrogen. It displaces the air to keeps the products fresh. You put the lid on, place the spay tube inside, spray some in and then quickly seal the lid. They thought of everything and you'll be amazed by all the applications they have products for. Good luck!

What if the engine revs up but no forward or reverse but the belt is fine and chain is fine what could be the problem?

Check any linkages make sure they are connected & not binding. Also the clutch may be slipping. Let me know what you have & what you do to make the repair. I am not familiar with what you have with belt, chain and reverse. Stay safe, Joe Z
