He was hardly “pro-war”, but you are correct if you are asserting that he wasn’t a pacifist. He believed that the war against the Nazi’s, for example, was justifiable. Words are important. Lewis wouldn’t use them so carelessly

@@NNHC2019 I think you are using semantics. War is war, Jesus did not specify if the foe was evil or not. News flash, there are no good guys in war, no righteous side in any war. Lewis was definitely patriotic and had a very narrow view of nationalism, one that was part of his time for sure. We have the benefit of hindsight and can see how it has played out, but he could have benefited from Christ's peace more had he stuck to the simple principles of Jesus and not thought so much on his own in that area. That is the folly of all of us, myself included, and it's why I say he's just a cool dude, nothing more. Christ alone, men will always let ya down, heck we let ourselves down in our thinking daily and he is patient with us.
