From the wisdom bestowed by his father at twelve, Andrew Henderson delves into the transformative concept "Go Where You Are Treated Best" and the process of choosing your path based on where you'll thrive the most-challenging geographical identities and embracing a life of mobility and optionality. Discover how to unlock your full potential by creating a life without boundaries, where your choices reflect your truest self. Andrew Henderson is the founder of Nomad Capitalist, a company that helps entrepreneurs and investors reduce their taxes and live a more mobile lifestyle. He is a lifelong entrepreneur who started his first business at the age of 22. After experiencing the high tax rates in the United States, he began traveling the world in search of more tax-friendly jurisdictions. Over the past 12 years, he has visited over 100 countries and developed a network of trusted professionals who can help people move offshore. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

What a great video! You have essentially laid out the map of my life. I was never really happy in Canada but, I could never figure out why. I always had a low grade, chronic depression that I just couldn't shake. In 2001, I went to Cuba for the 1st time. I had epiphany after epiphany after epiphany in the week that I was there. After landing in a country that I had never been to before, I felt the most amazing sense that I was "home" & for the first time in my life, my chest chakra opened & I felt connected to the energy & the people. I never felt that connection to anything in Canada. After a further 10 trips back to Cuba over 6 years, I realized that there was a whole entire world out there for me to explore. I started full time (slow) travel in Oct 2014. October 2024 will be my 10 year anniversary & I don't have a nanosecond of regret about leaving Canada. I have found many countries where I am treated well so, if I ever decide to retire, I'll have far more choices than Canada. Thank you so much for all that you do in your videos. I've been a fan for about 5 years.

Very impressed. I enjoyed this TEDx talk. You have helped me go where I am treated best. I especially enjoyed your book Nomad Capitalist available from Amazon. This helped me escape the UK. You are so right so many people have not left their own county let alone their own country. The world is your playground. There is so much out there to discover whether that is a house in the South of France or a condo in Kuala Lumpur, perhaps using the visa waiver tourist 90 day agreement that most countries offer. This along with freely offered multiple international bank accounts from companies such as Revolut or TransferWise. We are not restricted to only living in the Country people think we are meant to live in. Thank you.

on your site, reasons US citizens want to get a Visa: ...they don't want to pay taxes (for infrastructure/workforce/etc that helped get them wealthy). ...they don't want regulations (that protect working-class people or the environment). ...they don't want to feel guilty (as society has enough of their insatiable greed & turns against them). "services" to help move people & their ill-gotten money, also mentioned multiple times. because, of course, everything's a fuckin grift.

Great talk! I never had this conversation with my parents, I knew something was wrong in the US, so I left, and spend 10 years traveling the world, before settling in Belgrade, Serbia. Many Americans have no idea how bad they have it.

Evaluating a country's stability for relocation involves considering various factors. Here's a categorized assessment for Peru: Political Stability: * Peru has a stable democratic government, with a president as head of state and government. * Political tensions and protests occasionally occur, but they're generally peaceful. Economic Stability: * Peru has a growing economy, driven by mining, agriculture, and tourism. * Inflation is relatively low, and the country has a stable currency (Sol). Social Stability: * Peruvian culture is rich and welcoming, with a mix of indigenous, Spanish, and African influences. * Social unrest and crime exist, but they're mostly limited to specific areas. Safety: * Peru is generally a safe country, with low crime rates compared to other South American nations. * Petty theft and pickpocketing can occur in tourist areas. Healthcare: * Peru has a well-regarded healthcare system, with modern hospitals and medical facilities. * Healthcare is generally affordable, with both public and private options available. Cost of Living: * Peru has a relatively low cost of living, especially outside of Lima. * Rent, food, and transportation are affordable, making it a great option for expats. Language: * Spanish is the official language, but many Peruvians speak some English, especially in tourist areas. * Learning some Spanish will enhance your experience and allow you to fully immerse yourself in the culture. Visa Requirements: * US citizens can enter Peru visa-free for up to 183 days. * For longer stays or residency, you'll need to apply for a visa at a Peruvian embassy or consulate. Environmental Factors: * Peru is prone to natural disasters like earthquakes and landslides. * Climate varies greatly depending on the region, from tropical to desert to mountainous. Infrastructure: * Peru has a well-developed infrastructure, with modern airports, roads, and public transportation. * Internet and phone connectivity are generally reliable. Community: * Peru has a growing expat community, with many online resources and social groups. * You'll find a supportive community in cities like Lima, Cusco, and Arequipa. Overall, Peru is a great option for those looking to leave America, offering a unique blend of culture, stability, and affordability. However, it's essential to research and visit the country before making a decision to ensure it's the right fit for you.

There is an enduring saying; the grass is always greener…. For the hypothesis to be true there has to exist dissatisfaction. It would be productive to resolve the dissatisfaction at it’s source before making big decisions.

In Canada we are told we live in the best country but our carbon taxes will cost each household $1820. per annum, higher than the water and sewage bill. Time for a rethink.
