Went from apex tech in the movie and the early series to a flying coffin as the series went on.
@SCI-FI-NERD-DRMCK4YАй бұрын
@Phil-D83 basicly, the goa'uld problem was not enough innovation or technology development and the progress made was ither reversed engineered from stolen tech or created and not shared amongst the rest leaving any advancements being hidden or destroyed in conflict and considering the goa'uld aim is to intimidate and enslave there whole ideology behind technology was geared to that and to play gods keeping the technology info away from the slaves including the Jaffa so pit the goa'uld up against earth mind set the asgard and the ori and the replicators it's not surprising they got whooped
@mitthrawnuruodo751721 күн бұрын
Hate to correct you, but when the replicators attack the milkyway it's implied that the Goa'uld have tens of thousands if not millions of Hat'aks (Jacobs shows a map with every Hat'ak the Tok'ra could smuggle a tracking transmitter on board) Which is very fitting for a galaxy spanning empire

My theory for the fire power of the Ha'tak is that it also has the bombing weapon that an Al'kesh has (never remember hearing the weapon name) that would get you the 1000 megatons and explain why in Continuum the bombardment is not as bad as it should be. It could also be that the bombing weapons are the heavy staff cannons they may have an alternate fire mode (like a battleship firing armor piercing then switching to high explosives) that would explain why in the show a Ha'tak bombing an off world base did less damage then the self destruct that was maybe the size of a small fort. that was from Death Knell S7 E16
@nihilityjoeyАй бұрын
We definetly see that Ha'taks have two weapons systems. The main cannons we see on the outer shell, which are more ship to ship. And plasma cannons on the pyramids base. The ones on the base seem to have a lower yield than the ones we see on their ship to ship weapons, like you have stated. And that's impressive as hell when you consider that the goa'uld bombard a planet from high orbit until it's a radioactive, uninhabitable rock.
@VIFFVDTCEDАй бұрын
@@nihilityjoey " And plasma cannons on the pyramids base" I am blanking on where this was ever on screen not saying it was not I just cant remember it (would like a clip name) but that make seance as a ground strike weapon for when the ship is landed to repel a take over

The timeline seems a bit off. I clearly remember in the movie that Ra first appeared on earth in ~10,000 BC. If I remember correctly, this is also stated in the show a few different times. One interesting bit of lore is that the Hatak's pyramid was supposed to be a 4-sided Cheyops class, but someone screwed up in the 3D art department, and we got the three-sided ship everyone loves to hate.
@SCI-FI-NERD-DRMCK4YАй бұрын
@@GuardianSage the dates are around that time as theirs no exact time stated to each event it's like 10,000y to 5000y then info then like 5000y to 1ad and the 4 side and the 3 side are stated to be diffrent ships now but maybe originally like you said where ment to be the same or of the same ship
@kevreid82Ай бұрын
Stargate timeline didn't seem to be consistent. The ancients were still around 10,000 years ago.

Isn't the Cheops class ship, the just pyramid shaped ship with no outrigging like a Ha'tak class ship. The same ship Ra used in the original 1995 Stargate movie, older than the Ha'tak class or do you think that Ha'taks incorporate the Cheops in the body of the Ha'taks and just use the Cheops as a lander for when they actually want to land on a planet on a pyramid?
@SCI-FI-NERD-DRMCK4YАй бұрын
@dragonweyr44 In my research, I believe the cheops class pyramid ship is a variation of the hat'tak possible the first pyramid design or a secondary design for head goa'uld mostly used for a palaces on planets and less armed than the Ha'tak the cheops main role is transportation of high ranking goa'uld and royal palaces
@dragonweyr44Ай бұрын
@@SCI-FI-NERD-DRMCK4Y OR, even more likely, the Cheops could detach from a Ha'tak in order to land on a planet We've seen Ha'taks hover over planets, but I don't remember ever seeing one actually land on one. With the possible exception of the 1st season episode There But For The Grace Of God and the third season episode Point Of View when alternate dimension Earths had Ha'taks, supposedly, landing on top of Cheyenne Mountain but we never actually saw them LAND on the mountain like we saw Ra's ship do in the original movie We also saw, in the 1995 movie, that the Cheops ship did have death gliders as did the Ha'taks

About the nuclear warheads...this part is kinda confusing. Didn't they stated in the episode that the warheads hit the shields moments before they could detonate? And what do you think about the Hatak firepower, 200-300 megatons per round? Is it true or the firepower is lower?
@SCI-FI-NERD-DRMCK4YАй бұрын
@martinantab3520 with the nukes they was armed and detonated at the shield the visual effects just didint capture the size of the blast right as it was early cgi days and for yield of weapon there are variable yield to hit with low force or high force it the alternate universe when the goa'uld attacked earth it's mentioned that only a few shots destroyed entire city's and in my research it state up to or beyond 1000 megaton per shot for heavy cannons
@nihilityjoeyАй бұрын
It was stated in the next episode that people had seen two bright flashes in the sky, and elsewhere that the shock wave from those nukes were felt on the opposite side of the world.
@SCI-FI-NERD-DRMCK4YАй бұрын
@nihilityjoey exactly they did go off, but the explosion effect just didn't represent it properly
