Love your info. Would love to know the books you were holding. You bounced them around so much I never got to really take it in. Please hold them still, and for a longer amount of time while you talk. We don't care. It's okay. :) I also could not find a link to these books below. Love your content and ideas. thank you.

I am a big fan of Bach, is it fine if I work my way through his keyboard work? I am a bigginer :p I know this will take many years, but I will also learn some Clasical and Romantic pieces in the process. Notebook for Anna Magdalena Little Preludes and Fugues Two-Part Inventions Three-Part Sinfonias French Suites Partitas English Suites The Well-Tempered Clavier Toccatas Goldberg Variations The Art of Fugue

Yey! Great video, it helped me in having a little bit more motivated, wich is my biggest problem on learning piano. I'm about grade 1,5 - 2 level, and you should know how hard is to stay motivated at this level. I think my biggest problem is to finish a song. I hear a piece amd I say "oh, this one I can learn!". I get the sheet, learn the full RH, and I just get lazy in finishing it. My goal to this year is definitely get more disciplined in my learns. And also I want to do the Conservatory exam in december. The exam consists in a theoretical test and a practical one. The theoretical is easy, but the practical gets me. I have to play two pieces on my choice and I just don't know wich I chose!!! Anyway, thanks for the video and congratulations with the marriage!!

Thanks. :) I'm the same way with exams - the practical ones always stress me out, whereas the theory ones are an exciting and fun challenge. Good luck with the self-discipline!

I know A piece I DON'T want to learn : Für Elise. :D I only have 2 other pieces to pick for my exam! Surprisingly, it's the romantic piece (and the etude). Classical was easy (I've learnt the first movement of K545 from Mozart. I want to learn the other movements and my goal is to do a level 7, so, perfect!). Baroque, I thought I would take a piece I already know, but my teacher wanted me to learn another invention, so after invention no 8, I will tackle invention no 4! And modern will ask me a lot, rythmically speaking : The Little Shepherd, from Debussy! (Oh, yeah, I'm not doing RCM exam, I'm doing Anna-Marie Globensky preparatory school exam, from Université Laval, in Quebec city. But the levels are roughly the sames. But this is why the 4 pieces and 1 etude instead of 3 pieces and 2 etudes. The pieces must be Baroque, Classical, Romantic and "Modern" (late XIX to XX)).

Do you know how I could find sheet music for the songs mentioned in the RCM piano syllabus?
@PianotvNet8 жыл бұрын
The songs in the syllabus all mention what book/collection they come from. Older collections (anything Classical, Romantic, etc) can usually be found online on sites like imslp.org. Newer stuff isn't public domain, but can be found or ordered through your local music store, or sites like sheetmusicplus.com.

Hello . Great vidéo. I was pretty shocked to hear 1 song per week.... i don't know what song we are talking about. My goal is to go through all suzuki book. Currently on book 3 song 4. I wish i could do this 40 song a year and get like all book done. Like 4 to 5 grades a year ;)
@noriega788 жыл бұрын
Which was of course ironic. Everyone knows it's impossible to get such a grade progression
@PianotvNet8 жыл бұрын
Yes, I might have to clarify that in a future video. I definitely can't learn 40 pieces that are really difficult - many of those are pieces below my level. So if I play at a grade 10 level, at least half of my list is around a grade 7 or 8 level, so I can learn them faster.

Short-term goal: Finish RCM Prep A and do exam next December . Mid-term goal: not be afraid of playing sixteenth notes someday (they look scary at the moment). Long-term goal: Look at a complicated piece from Chopin and say "I can learn that!"

Good luck! Before you know it, 16th notes will be like old friends, and 32nd notes will be the new enemies...
