Hi Laddy ,, just wanted to thank & share with you that I made the fish curry as per your method and and recipe ,, it turned out great with a lovely color, texture and taste ,, I prefer to eat fried fish over fish curry, so I used the head and tail of the Surmai fish ( as well as the head of pomfret ) to prepare curry and the rest to fry ,, it turned out great ,, so thank you,once again 😊

You're welcome Naushad and thank you so much for your wonderful feedback on our recipe. I'm glad you enjoyed the curry. I completely agree with you that the fried Fish tastes a whole lot better than the fish in the curry. So we also sometimes do what you did and enjoy the curry along with some Fried fish pieces which we keep aside instead of putting everything in the curry 😀 Even fried Prawns taste much better than the ones in the curry!

Thank you for this interesting recipe... question: can I use tilapia or Nile perch instead of pomfret fish?
@GetCookingNow2 ай бұрын
You're welcome Susan & yes, you can use Tilapia, Nile perch or even red snapper with this recipe 🙂

Just want to add that we don't use ginger for grinding, in Goa . the rest of the recipe is fine. We do add a little dried cocum for extra flavour
@GetCookingNow26 күн бұрын
Rosy, I'm also from Goa and we do add ginger while grinding. Each taluka in Goa has its own variation of the recipe. North Goa the preparation is slightly different from South Goa. In the south they add a little sugar in most gravies but in the North they seldom add Sugar. So nothing is etched in stone. Kokum is generally added in Ambot tik not in Pomfret Curry from where I come from in Goa 😀

🫶👌👌 Spices need not be roasted!?
@GetCookingNowАй бұрын
Vasanthi, for this recipe we don't need to roast the spices. But roasting the spices slightly does bring out the flavours 🙂
