I should try to convince my 14 year old niece do goat info videos on youtube. Her goats have won state fairs in show and jumping contests and she was trained by long time professionals. She is very straight to the point and lets the knowledge speak for itself. She would be a great help to the online goat community. Thanks for the inspiration!

my little kid is only 4 weeks old and has been experiencing frothy bloat for the past 2 weeks! in that time he has had stomach decompression, paraffin oil and lots of vet care, but sadly this morning he seems be to sick again! Its like we take 2 steps forward and then 1 step back and i am beside myself! Right now, he wont stand up and walk around and no interest is his morning bottle! i am trying everything and its very frustrating because i hate seeing him sick. Your videos are a godsend and due to having zero experience with goats up until 2.5 weeks ago, are providing us with essential knowledge that is helping us care for our baby Paku. Hopefully he gets over this bout and we move forward and get our playful little baby boy back on track

Im going to try the baking soda today, is that ok for kids as well as adult goats? when i mentioned it to the vet they didnt seem to say alot, the first time he got it he needed immediate care which i understand is past the baking soda stage, but this time around it seems much less severe and im wondering if i could give it a go and see if it helps his little rumen. He is onyl started taking crumble and loosen chaf in the past few days so im wondering if that change in diet is also causing the upset? the lactose free milk we have been giving him seems to be good for him but im kinda at a loss and my vet bills are piling up

Trying to learn as much as I can before my goats come in May. I have a notebook already filled with all the info I've come across. I've spent more than I will on the goats just for all the possible first aid they may need to be on hand. It is so overwhelming to step into, I feel like every bit of info I learn leaves me with a dozen extra things I still have to learn on top of it. Then to see different opinions within the community and not even know enough to know where to stand has my head spinning! I just ordered your goat binder and felt my anxiety ease up. I'm quite certain it will be much more useful to me than my mess of a notebook 😂 Can't wait to get it, thank you for caring and helping others to be the best caregivers they can be!
@DelcifromALifeofHeritage9 ай бұрын
I’m so glad you’re taking the learning seriously. It’s “easy” to take care of goats. But really, they need a lot of the right care and feeding practices: that’s what makes it “easy”. If they don’t have that, then it gets complicated. And knowing what to do when issues arise to be able to act quickly is key! So glad you’re getting your resources in order!

Hi, I'm really sad to say I saw your video to late. We had a goat who gave birth to 2 kids last Monday and both of them died due to goiter. Yes I think we need to administer iodine as a form of drench. What's even sadder is that the mom passed today as well. We are new at raising goats, so we didn't recognize the sign for bloat. But we didn't change her diet of leaves and hay, so we wonder what could've caused it. Could the enlarged goiter thyroid cause the bloat? Another goat has the enlarged thyroid as well and didn't cause that issue, so we are a bit lost.

Unfortunately, you’ve now found out how fast a goat can get sick and die. My job is not to give you a little fix it pill 💊 . There isn’t one. It takes time, learning, watching (even 16-gasp-minute videos), spending time with your goats, even losing a goat to really know about goats. My job is to teach people about goats: what to do when they get sick AND how to prevent it AND what to watch for etc etc and information takes time to teach and learn 🤷🏼♀️
