👍🏼 Definitely not for everyone. I tell people I can’t recommend it to a normal person. 😄My blade edge was terrible. I think you might not have the scalpel seated all the way down onto the rod thing before you close the lock lever. Then unlock and close the blade. Maybe. :) I am loving mine the more I use it. I’ve never carried extra stuff for my multitool. I made kydex sheath for the goat and now I’m trying out a pocket pouch. O and I’m AndrewFett not Boba Fett. But close enough. 🤣🤣😁

I think in part it’s unlearning how my wave worked and learning how to use this, I do find it’s loosening up a little, will check the scalpel, I do use and make stuff from kydex, still looking for a better sheath. May make one, will see.

@@ShelleyRaskin I’ve been using a Gerber diesel for past 10yrs. So goat is mostly a big improvement for me. And I love the modular stuff. :) Good luck with whatever you decide to do. 👍🏼

it looks great i love the interchangeable scales and is a great concept, but i think they need a few more iterations and tweaks before its something id consider

You are not wrong there, I am growing more used to mine but there is a whole list of mods you need to do to make it more useable, GOAT 2.0 if they fix the issues and maybe make it elsewhere should be good, fun to play with though.

Have you considered the Swisstool X or Spirit X? I'm a big fan of both of them. I like Leatherman too. I have the Surge and Titanium Charge+. I enjoy collecting and using multitools, so I'm sure I'll get the GOAT at some point. Having to do some mods is a bit of a drawback, but I don't really mind. Pretty much all my multitools had to be modded someway except the Spirit X. It's fine just the way it is. On the Swisstool X, the only thing I did was grind out a small secondary bevel on the chisel tool to use as a convenient package opener.

If I was going to get another multi tool I think the surge would be it, the t shank adapter is a great idea, I will run with this for a while still though.

This multi-tools overrated it has tons of problems I put it on the shelf trying to sell it or give it away.

I do like the jaws, they stay open and that helps use them one handed I find.
