I probably agree with most of your negatives. However I've got one, and I'm glad. I've swapped out tools for ones I want, which is nice. I've added washers in between some bits to mitigate clumping with the knife. I can open the pliers, the knife and the scissors with one hand, so that's cool. But none of those things are why I'm glad, it's because this is probably the only proper full size plier based multitool with knife and scissors, that is EDC legal in the UK. My other UK legal tool, is a tiny Leatherman squirt, but it has literally just been too small for some tasks.

Check out the Leatherman Bond. It was made just for the UK i believe

@@LeftyEDC I'm aware of it, unfortunately, the Bond is not actually legal in the UK, because while the blade is open and the handle is closed, you cannot fold it with one motion, it is locked (in a sense) by the handle, i.e. it is not readily closeable, and requires at least two actions to close. I actually e-mailed Leatherman about this, asking if maybe something legal is in production, they did mention the Bond being the closest thing, but this is quote from their e-mail: "There have been no mentions of a new tool coming out that would be a completely legal according to the knife carrying laws in the UK"

My Friend, don't knock your self down! I just got my about a week ago and had no trouble, until I started to unscrew this to put on the titanium scales. This took me most of the afternoon, because I needed to tweak the screws using a better Torx bit driver to get this "hot swapping" switch or lever not to lock up on me. I think this particular multi tool should be refined further, for better ease of use.

I would drop the hex key and replace with 2 brass washers to free up the big implements from the smalls. On the bit side? Well that sucks, i would put some heavy duty H1 grease between the implements at least add some lube.

Have modded several of the Leathermans. My Goat is a dream come true. So much easier to mod. Go ahead and put a 1/4 hex driver in your charge. You won't wine so much

I was interested in buying your goat just to have your satin tools in my black frame. Like I said yours doesn’t work very well, so big discount:) But there store just opened so I don’t know if it makes sense to buy yours. I’ve had problem with mine but worked thru it mostly. I’ve talked to goat. They are still improving. Everything is replaceable. Definitely not for everyone. But I am loving my goat. I don’t mean to sound too much like a dick but I’m not sitting at a desk. I’m using mine and liking it. O and I have to confess; I’ve been using a Gerber diesel for 10 yrs. :) GOAT big improvement for me. I have a lot a vids of my experiences w/it.

I’ve been talking to them some about the main problems for me. Mostly the wire cutters. The pic they have at there new store does not look like what I have. Supposed to be able to send pic of bad tool and they send new one. We’ll see how it goes. Thanks for responding👍🏼

It’s a love/ hate relationship. I’ve had mine for a couple of weeks now and find myself not reaching for it as much as I would my leatherman. I like the concept and the freedom of choice of tools that I want but the functionality is lacking.

I’m with you man. I think this thing needs another year. They need to do a lot to refine this thing. And don’t say Hotswap if you can’t truly swap everything the way you want it. There are so many other better tools than this. If you’re gonna put GOAT on something, it better be damn near perfect. And this is far from it. All I can say is better luck next time.

I like the idea but it's so basic and boxy. it definitely looks like a basic idea, of a tool that's modular, that wasn't finalized. it needs to be more ergonomic. IMO.

Agree 100%! I feel like this tool just needs more development. What really put things in perspective, for me, was comparing, in the field, the SOG Poweraccess Deluxe... One tool feels, acts and seems to be a clunky assortment of individual tools, while the other feels like a completely integrated multi tool.

I think this version was a flop. Seen so many problems on all videos from other people. Cool idea but poorly executed. Pliers suck on this as well. Ergonomics aren't good. Design and aesthetics are no good. It's also clunky and blocky. Much better off just getting a Leatherman Curl/Wave and taking out the parts you don't want. Or going SAK+XS combo and call it a day.
