@jerodast2 ай бұрын
This is the point Andy-Erin is officially being dragged out too long. A later episode in Season 3 of _Scrubs_ has Elliot dump her boyfriend of the month and throw herself at JD after he's been pining after her, repeating the cycle of the previous 2 seasons. At which point he tells the camera "Oh no! I don't want her!" That was the JFC STOP IT moment of that storyline, sending that relationship into hibernation for a few years. I didn't realize 'til now how similar this move by Andy feels.

Kind of crazy people said season 9 is better than 8 imo. I would say episode 19 and on for season 8 was terrible but rest for before that were decent. While season 9 has 4 ok episodes and rest could tell the series was really dragging on. The biggest redeeming factor of season 9 is that last two episode do feel very heartfelt closing and essentially minimizes most of the dumb stuff they did throughout season 9 so we could forget most of it even happen.
@jerodast2 ай бұрын
Yeah I think either Jimmy got it backwards, or whoever told him that REALLY hates Robert California. (I do think some people who really liked the finale mistakenly recall the whole final season as being that good, whereas my recollection at the time is almost nobody liked it.)

I kinda wish they kept Ray Romano's character on, his character had sweet and grounded sorta vibe. I don't think the Office ever stops being funny, but they definitely go more cartoony, the bad jokes about Kevin being dumb are definitely a great example of that. It just feels off.

@jerodast2 ай бұрын
SPOILERS I guess vaguely about Spader's character... I'm more disappointed in him, sometimes, than outright disliking him overall. He does enough that is just perfect Spader to make him forever an icon in my memory of the show. Yet there are a good number of episodes where he's not actually that great. And then there is the feeling that he is actually part of a completely different show somehow intersecting with the Office, although that's part of his charm... To me he's an amazing character with a lot of wasted potential.

Enter James Spader. You're right. He is the GOAT. Creed acts like someone who took way too much acid back in the day and hasn't fully recovered since. Poor, oblivious Angela. I want to feel sorry for her but at the same time, I feel she deserves some of this for being a judgmental snob. The Andy-Erin will-they/won't-they is incredibly infuriating and I barely care about them as a couple.

@TheNoiseySpectator2 ай бұрын
Personally, I think the best candidate of all would be Pam. But, this is a comedy. An important part of how a comedy imitates real life is cynicism. For the show to continue to work, we don't want the Best, Most competent person to become The New boss. We need someone with lots of relatable flaws, who will cause the employees problems that _real life_ office workers can identify with. 🤡
