A great British Tv show. I have watched it from when it was first on TV. I’m still watching it now in reruns.. it never gets old. Hope to visit Goatland some day and walk the streets of where the show was filmed.

I stumbled upon Heartbeat back in about 2004, when it was being broadcast on TVOntario here in Canada. I was hooked from that first episode, and after the series was cancelled was happy to see it being re-broadcast from the start, whereupon I got to see all those previous years' worth episodes that I had missed. This is my favourite TV program of all time, and it engenders within me an almost consuming nostalgia. Many a tear was shed over all the heartbreaking moments, and many a hearty laugh enjoyed, too. If I could be transported over to 'Aidensfield', It would probably be an experience not too different to that of foreigners making pilgrimmage to The Wailing Wall, or Mecca. The sedate pace of this presentation allowed me to soak in the sights at leisure. And to vicariously be transported to that place of soothing contentment. Thanks! 😊

Everyone thinks of the garage has always been run by Scripps, but in fact it was originally owned by a chap named Malcolm Mostyn in the earlier series, he then suddenly disappeared after series 3. I think the name changed to Scripps from about series 11.

Having wandered around Goathland a couple of times over the years it was nice to see it in your video today, with the added bonus of double trains crossing in the station. Hopefully a year's time we'll be in the area to see it ourselves. Good video Neil.

Lovely to watch. I was surprised to see the buffet coach unmanned, they could have made a little extra money selling drinks.

When we went there was an old police car parked outside the shops.

Wish they'd kept some of the other vehicles used in the show, like the police bikes and Greengrasses red truck and put them on display. But like always it's all about making money and many of the vehicles used are worth alot of money at auction. I heard Greengrasses truck sold for about 60 grand to a gypsy in Norfolk and restored.

Stupid what they've done to the front of the pub. They are trying to make it look like a bloody Wetherspoons. You could once park your car in front.
