As a 60-year-old, hearing, "She did pretty well considering she's 50," came off as a bit patronizing. Is it your contention that older people are slow learners? Is that your experience?

Older learners often don't tend to put in the time to learn, since they can be busier with lives/work/etc. Younger learners (teens, young adults) often have a lot more free time they can spend, or even the ability to move completely to Korea and study Korean full-time. So it's less common for older learners to start learning a language - most people learning here on KZbin are in that teen-to-young-adult age range. I wish more learners above those age ranges would also learn Korean, since they'd see it's something they can still do just as well. I actually made a video about this topic here if you'd like to learn more: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpm3YpqBndpgpMk

As the 50-year-old in the video I didn't take it that way at all. Many of my friends will say to me that they "don't know how I find the time or energy" for learning Korean so I think it's more that than anything else

@@SherryOsborne Perhaps I am just sensitive. I am old and my learning seems to have taken an inordinately long amount of time. Thanks for the feedback!

I’m so jealous of the fourth girl 🥲😂 I wish my Korean were that good. I wonder how she started learning. If I would guess from her story she studied in Korea.

Thank you it's helpful! i learn korean for 2 years, i'm french, i can speak but i made some pronunciation mistakes too like ㅃ and ㅂ sometimes, i will improve that. I'm at intermediate level now in listening, grammar etc but my speaking skill isn't beginner now but not at intermediate yet, it's between lol. I can hear the difference of level in their speaking, their intonation. i also heard "안녕하쎄요" instead of 안녕하세요. I also heard the japanese intonation in the last person. The 2nd person speak very well korean but we can recognize she's 외국인

I wish I'd had the courage to submit a video, but I'm nowhere near as advanced as any of the people whose videos you discussed here. I would have hated to be compared to them! But if you do something like this again, I'll try to work up my courage and 해 볼게요!
