These short, repetitive conversational videos about everyday life are sooo helpful. The repetitive nature of these really helps to embed the vocabulary in my memory. (I'm not good with flashcard memorizing.) It's a bit like taking a sentence and switching out different words to practice using that sentence. It also really helps to develop my listening skills. Thanks so much for doing these, and I hope you will do many more. 😊😊😊

Oddly satisfying to be able to get the general gist of these interviewees' responses just by listening and sometimes flitting my eyes to the English subs, after progressing through about half of the Billy's beginner YT course. I can tell my vocab wont quite cover all the endings and conjugations, but then pause, type out what I think is as close as I can get into Gemini/GPT, and get the associated little dopamine shot when I'm right. Sometimes, I'll then type in the Hangeul response of the interviewees and see how it differs from what I thought it meant.

Hey Billy I just bought Korean made simple beginner textbook! Honestly was unsure which beginner resource to start with whether it be yours, ttmik, university type books or a combination. This is my first investment outside of free resources and my main reason was because of your free youtube content. I felt the need to give you my money because of what you give out for free. Keep up the good work you are very appreciated by this half korean american. 감사합니다

I'm trying to challenge myself to listen to Korean without looking at any subtitles (even Korean ones) and it was hard not to look 😂😂 (In the end I had to move part of the window off the screen to hide the subtitles completely)

Find it kinda crazy that most people haven't had anything to eat until the afternoon, especially with all the good food in Korea.

They usually eat breakfast at home before going out.

When they say "chicken", is that referring to fried chicken? I'm interested in why they are using a borrowed word.
@GoBillyKorean3 ай бұрын
It's chicken. That can be fried chicken, or 양념 치킨, etc.

@@GoBillyKorean Hi. I have tried many different approaches. Self study, 1:1 tutors on Preply x4, followed by a failed attempt at TTMIK (plus they double charged me for materials), now Duolingo and your KZbin channel.

@SamCorreia3 ай бұрын
It seems that they do "fasting" but if you noticed in the video, Billy is asking about 야식 and that is a late night meal (like a second dinner), so it is like the equivalent of a breakfast in the morning for those who only eat once at night. So those who eat 야식 normally don't eat breakfast but lunch :)
