Awesome video, this helped me get through the ordeal of changing my screen over! The only problem was, I had to change over some extra parts that are already built into your replacement screen, and that made me REALLY nervous. But it all worked in the end. Thanks for taking the time to make this!

@ari Camberos Most people assume that the model number of their Note is "Galaxy Note 3" It is not. It is N900T, N900A, N900V... etc. If you buy the pre-assembled display with a mid-frame included make sure that your model matches or else it won't fit. AT&T and T-Mobile are interchangeable. Verizon, Sprint, overseas version- all have their own design.

Thanks for the video! I purchased the item on the link for the Note 3 N900. The replacement was not exactly like yours which had all the sensors, power button and headphone jack but those were easy to move, it just requires patience. My tools were a screw driver used to fix eyeglasses, a Bic pen top and a blow dryer.

1000 Thank You's!!!! This helped me to save the data behind the blackened screen! Too expensive to find a replacement screen, so I bought a 2nd hand Note-3 for a decent price. Just replaced the bigger board (no need for a heat gun or anything to pry out the small one) and It Is Working!!! All my data saved!!! Looked like I had to put all screws back in before I could try to restart, but that worked in the end. So relieved….. ;-)

@GoCellPhoneRepair10 жыл бұрын
@xXxMaXiMuZxXiLx Yes, it sounds like your display and digitizer are damaged. The stylus still works because it has a completely separate sensor located behind the AMOLED. All of the Note 3 *displays are compatible but if you buy one with the mid-frame already installed as shown in the video then there are differences in the board layout. If you follow the link in the video description and look at the parts in the right hand column they will work with your device but take a little more labor as you will need to preserve the original mid-frame and replace the S-Pen flex cable as well.

@GoCellPhoneRepair10 жыл бұрын
It is possible but not easy and somewhat risky to the display. Theoretically you can used a special solution to remove the AMOLED from the mid-frame but without making a video it's a bit lengthy to describe the process and again very risky to the display until you've had some practice. I'll try to get something put together in the future for demonstration.

This video is comforting, hopefully a local shop has the part in stock and will sell it to me
@GoCellPhoneRepair8 жыл бұрын
I wish you luck with that but don't be surprised if that doesn't happen. There's a long list of reasons why phone repair shops don't like to sell parts to customers. Maybe enough to make a video about the topic. The short story is that shops don't make much if anything on selling parts. It's all in the labor. Also, there is an element of liability since the part could potentially be damaged during installation.

The front camera is not replaced so if yours has problems you will have to buy one separately. The AMOLED is produced by Samsung so quality is the same. The outside lens is after market but in my experience equal to the original.

I replaced the glass on my Note3. I watched a video on Utube from a professional who said the screen had to be between 200-220 degrees Farenheit to melt the glue. I used a laser thermometer and was diligent about keeping the screen in that range. I got the glass off with no visible damage to the digitizer. However when I put the battery in to test, the screen is blank. Only the buttons are lighting up. I assume I ruined the digitizer. Is there anything I can do to fix it, or do I just have to replace? Also, what do you think I did wrong? Thanks
@GoCellPhoneRepair10 жыл бұрын
The AMOLED is very sensitive and the glue on the Note 3 is particularly strong compared to say the Note 2 or S4. I keep my hot plate at about 140C which would be more like 284 F and heat/pry in short intervals of about 7-8 seconds each. Your temperature might have been a bit low but it is also very easy to damage the display even when you have everything set properly. When we train technicians they usually break the first two or three despite direct supervision and feedback. Sorry to hear that you might have damaged yours but don't feel bad. This is not an easy process especially for the model that you are working with. It takes a lot of patience and practice to get a "feel" for it.

@GoCellPhoneRepair10 жыл бұрын
*If* you can do just the glass then the S-Pen functionality should not be affected as the flex is behind the AMOLED. However, if you buy the one piece lens/digitizer/AMOLED *without* the mid-frame you will want to get a new S-Pen flex as they are easy to damage when you pull out the old assembly. Safest way is to get the whole part: www.gocellphonerepair.com/Note3

Thanks a lot. I was just asking regarding the front glass cover, as I dropped my phone and the glass cover cracked. However, the touch and the spen still works pretty good. There are many guys here selling the cover, how do I know if the part is original and if it isnt does it make a big difference? Thanks
@GoCellPhoneRepair10 жыл бұрын
You won't get an original as Samsung does not sell them separately. It's just a piece of glass though as the digitizer is adhered to the AMOLED itself. Good luck. The Note 3 is one that we do not do glass only as the glue that holds it on is very strong. Very easy to break the display in the process.

If you buy the complete assembly as shown in the video make sure to buy one that is compatible with yours by checking the model number. Yeah they change these sometimes and I might have just gotten lucky on this one. You can assume that the picture on the website is more accurate as it is automatically updated when the description changes. You'll want to transfer those from the old frame. This is best accomplished using a heat gun and of course remove any screws where necessary like the one holding the headset jack in place and pry very carefully.

That is strange. Sounds like something is shorting out. Is it possible that something metallic is stuck to the speaker? It is basically a big magnet so I would start by checking very carefully and make sure that there isn't a screw or something on the inside of that panel or underneath where is sits. If that's not it there must be pressure being applied when you install the panel. I might pull the board out and re-install carefully checking that nothing is out of place and everything is connected properly. Let me know what happens.

You will almost definitely have to replace your AMOLED as in the video above. You can try opening the phone first, unplug and then reconnect the display cable just in case it was jarred enough during the drop to partially dislodge it. If it still behaves the same way then you are going to need a new screen.

If it's GSM then it should be compatible with the N900A but I don't want to give you the wrong answer. Please let us know if you confirm what it is.

If I took it apart and sent in some high res pictures do you think you could tell?
@KeirParsons10 жыл бұрын
Keir Parsons Alright so I did take it apart it is 100% a N900A, the board clearly has AT&T written right on it. the parts on the case are labeled N900A, as is the main board, USB, etc. Add that to your site and you'll be the only one selling direct N900W8 screens.

Keir Parsons Thank you very much for the follow up. I've been out of town for the last few days so I didn't see your messages until now. I will add the info to the video description and my website. Cheers.

Hey thanks for the video, I have a question though; I have a N900w8 CDMA note 3 (mexican version same as canadian) i recently dropped it and it landed on the corner. The lcd itself has a small crack in it and now the screen wont light up at all and its not responsive to touch. I can still use the s pen to unlock it though, and everything else works fine. I assume that if part of the lcd is cracked then I have to replace everything right? Also I cant find a screen specifically for the N900w8, will any model work properly? thanks in advance

can you make a video on how to replace the lcd degitizer without the bazel frame for note 3
@sighange10 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for your video. I would like to replace only my middle housing (my screen is ok, just want to change the chrome bezel. Is it harder? how can i proceed please?
@GoCellPhoneRepair10 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately the mid-frame is glued to the AMOLED and you will destroy it if you try to separate them. To replace the bezel would be quite costly.

When I placed an order for screen replacement (from other retailer) for Samsung Galaxy note 3 and when it arrived, the power flex cable was missing so I tried to transfer it from my Galaxy note 3. Unfortunately, the thin film of power flex cable was ripped off while i'm trying to pry the motor and the very small pcb underneath. If I order this screen replacement from Go Cell Phone Center, will it also include the power flex cable or not?

It will depend on the seller. The items shown on our site go to third party suppliers so be sure to check with them before placing your order.

I wanted 2 ask my broken phones model is N900T, is the difference between that and the N900A jus the color?
@GoCellPhoneRepair10 жыл бұрын
Yeah. The A and T just stand for AT&T or T-Mobile. Those two are the same while the frames for Verizon, Sprint, and the overseas version are actually different.

Hey great vid. Just wondering something. I dropped my phone about an hour ago and all seemed fine with it (I didn't bother to check damage immediately since it just fell out of my pocket, something which it does regularly since I am kind of clumsy) But when I tried to look at a message I got the screen just remained black. I restarted the phone by removing the battery and putting it back in and then boot it. all I saw was a small line of light. Nothing else. The LED above the screen responded like it should and everything else seemed to work just fine. The only issue seems to be my screen. After further inspection I discovered several cracks inside the screen. Like not just on the screen but actually inside it... I just shut the phone off and left it in its box for now. Maybe you can give some advice on what to do? I just bought the phone so you can understand I am not planning on buying a new one. Thanks in advance
@GoCellPhoneRepair10 жыл бұрын
Yeah unfortunately you've pretty much described what a broken AMOLED looks like. Very hard to see sometimes unless the light hits it just right. If you want to use the phone the display will have to be replaced.

@GoCellPhoneRepair10 жыл бұрын
If you want to take your chances yes it can be done. You'll have to look carefully at the inside and grind off anything that gets in the way. Not the preferred method but should be possible. Did this with an S3 before.

Unless something is blocking the window the only ting that I can think of is a software issue. Are you using lightflow? There have been some problems reported related to that.

how can I fix the touch screen of my note 3, it only works with the s pen but not with my finger....can you help me fix the one ?
@GoCellPhoneRepair8 жыл бұрын
+Alejandro Herrndez The S-Pen uses a completely separate sensor that functions independently of your touchscreen. It's actually under your screen display. Unless you have damage to the logic board or your connector somehow came unplugged you will most likely have to replace the entire display as the touch screen is attached to the AMOLED. Removing the screen often causes damage to the S-Pen flex though so youll probably want to buy one of those too. The S-Pen sensor is relatively inexpensive but the display will set you back quite a bit more.

hey.. I have kinda the same problem as Ashish Valand but In my case I dropped my gn3 in water and at first it worked fine the my screen blacked out but everything worked just couldn't see anything...then after a few hours the screen was on but in a really dim tone ..kinda like neon its works fine its just kinda really hard to see do I need to replace the AMOLED as you recommended Ashish Valand ?
@GoCellPhoneRepair10 жыл бұрын
Most likely but if possible you want to make sure that it's the AMOLED and not the logic board causing the problem. If you know for a fact that it got wet then cleaning the board is always a good idea as in some cases a bad board may hard your new screen.
@sairadaira.10 жыл бұрын

I bought the part. upon arrival I noticed I had to move the sensors , front facing camera, power button and 3.5 audio jack from old frame to new frame. This video skips those steps. The replacement worked though.
@slimjimmichael9 жыл бұрын
omg its expensive to replace... :( Is there any other way I can fix this without forking over $190? It is the "inner screen" which i believe is the digitizer that cracked.. I don't mind doing some extra work by taking it apart. I ended up ordering the full frame and new screen/lcd. It honestly seems like a big pain in the butt taking the old screen off. Sad thing is that it is costing me more to replace the screen than I paid for the phone itself. Thanks for the vid!
@GoCellPhoneRepair9 жыл бұрын
Michael S I wish that there was. Without a contract this is a $500 phone and a lot of that value is the screen itself. If you sign up for another contract you can get it for less but of course in the long run it actually costs the price of your two year contract which will be a lot more than $190. Otherwise the price will eventually go down but it will be many months if not years before that happens.
@VolosVibes7 жыл бұрын
Considering the fact that the full phone used to be over 700 dollars it is a bargain if you can change the entire front for that price... Throw in a new camera for 13 bucks and you're good as new
