Awesome! Love your content! Great content for the upcoming New Year. Many people choose a word as a guide post for the year. Slothful’ness , which I don’t think is a work, might be my word for the year. As a constant reminder to “take action” before I naturally drift from the life God has for me. It’s human nature to drift… takes action to paddle.

🎉oh God is good! I was just being convicted about laziness in the morning and then BAM, here you are with this message. Thank you ❤ I pray for everyone who struggles with sluggishness to be called back to God and to stand upright intentionally in what He call us to do. In Jesus name, Amen!

Got more free time now since I broke up with my girlfriend due to my laziness. I just spent most of my time playing computer games. I try to spend my time on betterment of my life and with God now. Most of the time I feel lonely but I just try to listen to Christian songs, especially praise and worship songs.

The opposite, being too busy, can be just as harmful. Many people get busy doing things "for" God that they leave God out of the actual activity especially in their personal lives. I'm one of those who can get overwhelmed fairly easily and when I do, there are times I mentally shut down. If I don't shut down, I spiral down into depression. There is a fine line and balance in your activities. The best thing is to ask God where that balance is at.

Hi Abby, thank you with all your podcasts. I do really enjoy watching all of them. Honestly, I’m struggling to get up early this past few months coz I enjoy sleeping more and I always sleep late to o coz i spend so much time watching here in KZbin. I really felt guilty because i don’t give enough time to read God’s Word. Please help me to pray that i would be able to overcome. I know my Spirit is willing but my body is weak. I’m hoping that I would start going to bed early then i can get up early . 🙏

Interesting topic. I have problems with burnout. Todays lifestyle, worklife and culture activates the so-called sympathetic nerveous system a lot - triggering fight-flight-freeze responses that effect us also long-term. Somewhere I read that Jewish spirituality there is a concept of putting up fences around what you have to do and observe. For example, if I have to go to church every Sunday I need to be super careful about planning in time and space around that so there will be no excuses or accidents stopping me. Same thing with morning prayer and time for reading the Bible. The risk is that those habits and fences makes me more lazy about other things, so I need to have my priorities figured out. I feel exhausted most days. I have'nt fully been able to discern all the spiritual aspects. But I think I need Gods help getting the right mindset and feel that things are meaningful, worthwhile, acceptable and really good for some reason or another. This video gave me some new ideas, thanks!

Yes, say no to laziness and other people need us and Jesus Christ. In the Bible it says it's a race about pleasing GOD, there are those that race for a corruptible crown, but us race for first place obtaining an Incorruptible Crown. 😍

Gabby I had a broken Heart 💔 which made me disconnect from life. However being single I had to work and not be lazy however my a lone time was lonely. In the middle of the night a year ago. The Holy Spirit came to me and changed my life. I started to pray 🙏 more listen and watch Christian movies and music I have become more discerning about what I watch listen to and speak. I fast more and I have started to speak to Jesus more and share the Good News through the Chosen. I am grateful to God for all the positive things that are happening you being one of those things. A lot of what you say makes sense. I consider you as one of my people. Never Stop shining your light God Bless You. Gabby I have found it hard to find a Bible study group so when I listen to you its like a Bible study Anne Wilson living water 🙏♥️🙏✨

@christianknickerbocker6045 ай бұрын
So good. Apathy is a terribly destructive thing. We instinctively employ it as a defense mechanism but if you don't care about anything how will you ever be fullfilled? How will your desire be fulfilled if there's no desire in the first place? Its not psychology, its warfare and devotion and discipline to the joy and glory of both God and His children. I wanted to say that I so appreciate you working hard, writing out what you want to say so you can be articulate and effective for the kingdom. I know we war with power and not eloquent words but that doesn't mean God hasn't given us our gifts for a reason and you've clearly got one. For the first five minutes I thought you were just really articulate and then I realized as you went on without stumbling or rambling that you must have written out your thoughts and refined them ahead of time. I don't mind when people just get on and ramble slightly but I wanted to let you know that your efforts are effective and appreciated. God bless you and I hope to see more from you soon. Your thoughts on the power of the tongue would be much appreciated. I believe the church has erred in divorcing our speech from the one we speak to, making it a power we wield rather giving glory to the One we petition. Paul commanded to pray without ceasing (to God, not at the world) and Solomon said life and death were in the tongue while Christ said by our words we would be justified or condemned. My belief is that the power of words is not about convincing ourselves of certain truths through repitition or effecting physical reality through the independent power of our words but rather in the court of the king we declare our allegiance and His power saves us. If you think about it Solomon was not just some guy talking about the power of the tongue. He was a king telling his court, make your allegience to me public and I shall save you, make your defiance public or private and I shall destroy you. In the same way in the NT Christians affirmed (confessed) their faith in the face of persecution and were saved. I firmly believe that most of those who preach the power of words without mentioning the hearer are doing so with the best of intentions but I also believe they have greatly blunted the unmixed power of almighty God we should both seek and operate in every moment and every day.

To be honest,i seem to be in bondage with playing computer games and being lazy. I do try to read the Bible daily,i do watch Christian videos daily,i do have fellowship with believers,even though it's just online,where i live i doubt there's any Christian that shares the core beliefs that i do which is that we are saved by only trusting Jesus and His finished work and thus once we're saved,we are always saved because we're born again in that moment and we can't be unborn,we are sealed with the Holy Spirit and my other belief is the rapture is pre-tribulations which most seem to not believe,for some reason most believe we gotta endure and all that but i honestly don't know if they even understood the gospel because how can we be here during God's wrath when we're forgiven all our sins and we're the body of Christ and Jesus ain't going on the cross again and it's just... anyway. The point is,my free time i spend playing video games and a lot,often times i don't even sleep during the night,i just spend it playing and i think you're right sister,there is a spirit behind this,it is spiritual attack. I honestly never watched you,i just woke up and you came into my notifications on the phone as recommended,i knew in that moment that was God and you were God sent and now i know God addresses my laziness i didn't really want to admit as laziness and He wants me to change immediately,i think mostly because it's harming me but also to give Him glory. I should pray as soon as possible and begin the change from today. Thanks sister for this video,God used you to change lives of many,God bless.

@jplaza7210 How do you know that? Has God told you specifically about me? I doubt he has. Like I said I'm fine with not being special or having any purpose. If I wasn't here the world would keep on spinning. It's taken me a long time but I'm okay with not being special. I'm okay with not having talents or gifts. I'm okay if God's only plan for me was to one day past a condiment to someone and never be remembered again. I'm okay if God's plan for me was to live life never making a single impact or leaving a legacy behind. I'm okay with that.

Laziness or burnout?
@ItsGabbySings6 ай бұрын
Neither are good! I read that burnout is when we work extra hard on things without inviting the lord in for guidance! We’re more prone to burnout especially when we don’t love the thing we’re focusing all our time on. However, with God, he can give us a steadiness through all our work, even if we’re not passionate about it. It’s best to remain obedient to what he’s given you in this season!
