I really enjoy the front window views of rail-trips, especially along routes I have travelled in trips to Europe long gone by! My favourites are Amsterdam through Abcoude to Utrecht, and then Eindhoven, through Aachen and Duren, to Koln!

Looks like I'm going to have to pay attention to the abbreviations you use in the location data if you include them in this new line data. 😀. Another pleasant meander through the Dutch countryside. So that is what these ½-hourly simultaneous departures from Leiden Central toward Den Haag look like from outside. I've only 'experienced' it from the cab.

Meester, weer een mooie rit door ons mooie spoorland, edoch bent u een liefhebber van trivia zaken. In de begin jaren van de schiphollijn reden de Plan V's op het spoor tussen Amsterdam RAI en schiphol. Weet U nog hoe die treinen daar kwamen?

Leuke rit maar wat mij opvalt is dat het tegenwoordig zo'n rommeltje is met bovenleidingsmasten en -portalen, alles door elkaar op willekeurige afstanden en er lijkt geen regelmaat meer in te zitten zoals vroeger met eindeloze rijen portalen. Enig idee waar dat door veroorzaakt wordt?

De machinist komt aan met de trein en haalt zijn stuurstroomsleutel eruit. Vervolgens schakelt hij de trein in een stand waarbij alle systemen (compressor, verlichting etc) in werking blijven, behalve die met de tractie te maken hebben. Daarbij komen de stroomafnemers op.
