I’ve fought three so far and all I’ll say is that as much as you may want to be aggressive throughout the fight, you gotta stay patient and time those blocks, dodges and parries as well as you can. Don’t assume what the berserker is going to do. Even just waiting a small second to make sure you can identify which attack is coming is a game changer.

Alot of them just feel like end game bosses so make sure you max out your weapon and armour upgrades at least. No point in doing a boss if your damage output is low.

Can’t stress enough BELIEVE IN YOUR PARRIES, it’s by far the best way to build up the stun meter, I’d also recommend using the guardian shield as you get a better lock on with parrying projectiles Also the “wrath” rage is the best option (with maxed out rage from blood horns) as it basically gives you 4 combo breakers & guaranteed hits

Gná's fight was wayy harder than the King Berserker's if I'm being honest. He just had an insane amount of health while Gná had so many fast moves that looked EXACTLY alike one another but were either un-blockable or un-dodgeable.

For me Gna was easy but the King is very hard because your timing has to be perfect when parrying his attacks.

My problem with the berserkers that have multiple is that when you are attacking one you don't know when or how the other one will attack you. Because even though Atreus/Fraya are agroing it. It will attack you sometimes without much warning

Use the onslaught shield for these fights as Kratos will automatically run towards the enemy during the double blue ring attacks. He will even sometimes avoid the damage from those moves if you are close enough to them after they have completed the move and you're still charging at them. Edit: For the poison berserker, use the spear on the nightmares. Detonating a lodged spear instantly removed them from the battlefield, making this fight significantly easier. Using the blades isn't as reliable as you can and most likely will take damage as you try to pull them in.

The axe is crap against berserkers. Use blades of chaos, bash triangle to charge the blade then hit R2. For more than double damage, Make sure all your blades moves have been upgraded for increased burn. Wait for the right moment, use realm shift, activate immolation. You're welcome

@@royvan6224 there is definitely not a best weapon to use against these guys. The spear is SUPER fast, can steal elements and can be thrown like the axe to interrupt some of the berserkers’ attacks. The blades are super fast, close range, with the burn element doing significant damage if you build it up, great runic abilities, and lots of options to use when you want to close the distance safely. The axe while slow, deals considerable damage with a more passive element to assist you, and AMAZING runics to interrupt the berserkers (wrath of the frost ancient, breath of thamur, levaithan’s roar, etc.) Don’t even get me started on the awakening for each weapon’s no hit boost. Spear does EVEN more stun, the blades build burn on EACH attack, the axe gets a secondary hit that ALSO freezes the enemy, AND they all can stun the enemy at close range to allow you to attack. Sorry about the paragraph. * *There’s just too many option to limit yourself to one weapon imo*

Guardian shield is the best way to deal with berserkers, the counter attack disrupts their follow attack unlike dauntless shields double l1. Pair guardian with the dragon armor and the counter attacks deal more damage than your weapons.

These works in 1st playthrough but in new game +, things are different. I used fury instead of valor which is more useful for me. And making use of realm shift when necessary. I am not perfect with the play so i also use berserker res stone when needed.

Use a high def build (Steinbjorn chest, surtr scorched wrist & surtr scorched waist all max lvl.) For amulet use nifleheim set, svartalheim set, greater regeneration essence, regeneration essence and crest of desperate heroics. Use freya for high stun build Leviathan axe with grips af fallen alchemist Blades of chaos with pommels of the 9 realms Draupnir with hind of volatile might Onslaught shield with rond of restoration Relic with hilt of angravadall. All max lvl and should help you survive the fight with both Gna and King

Guardian shield is better than the dauntless sheild.. both can counter but only the guardian shield stops the enemy's attack after parrying as Kratos goes into his counter combo. Dauntless shield only does a single shield bash and against these berserkers it doesn't knock them back like regular grunts therefore their attack animation continues.
