I would recommend seeing Weendigo's video about the book "Paradise Lost" on how people can be misleaded on understanding what characters motivation truly are. "Oh you are so smart." Like a primordial ooze, from which all life sprang forth with the first giant Ymir. Jormungandr is full of this stuff, which can poison and kill gods. This is why in the final battle of ragnarok, thor defeats the serpent but is poisoned and takes 9 steps before collapsing from the poison. So thats why his wound doesn't heal, because it can't.

@@vaderdown788 to be fair a lot of the "Loki is evil" stuff is agreed upon by most scholars to be a result of the Christian Monks who are the ones who finally wrote all the stories and myths down as they were trying to convert the Norse to Christianity. We honestly don't know how bad Loki's tricks and even how much of a role in Ragnarok he played in the original myths because the people who told them first hand are long dead and those who bothered writting it down wanted to create a Satan analog. A lot of the non-ragnarok stories conflict with that "Loki is evil" narrative and more make him out to be the smart guy with the plan but those plans just happen to work as often as they don't. For example his place in the Trials of Utgardloki where he is given his choice of trial and he makes his trial an eating contest while Thor chose a trial to lift a big cat. Or that time Thor got his hammer stolen so Loki dressed Thor up as lady Sif.
