Jesus taught us to pray, Forgive us our debts. Why do Christians need this prayer? Aren’t we already forgiven? And what does it mean to pray 'forgive us our debts'? Pastor Colin Smith talks about the point of this petition of the Lord's Prayer.
Scripture: Ephesians 4:25-32
Date: May 31, 2020
Preached at The Orchard, a multi-campus evangelical church in the Chicago, Illinois, area (theorchardefc.org)
Read the Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13 ESV): Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Open the Bible is the teaching ministry of Pastor Colin Smith. Our mission is to use a broad array of modern media to help people around the world meet Jesus. We do this by opening the Bible for them, helping them open the Bible themselves, and equipping them to open the Bible with others.
