I truly believe that most people have friends. They just don’t feel like/realize they do. Many of of are forever trapped chasing validation. the feeling of powerlessness is what we’re actually feeling… it bleeds into everything. I feel like I don’t have friends all of the time, but the truth is I do. It feels like that because I don’t feel equal to some of them. I don’t feel equal to some of my peers, because I’m not being all I can be. Being needed by a tribe is what we really want.

We're all Travis deep down inside. You'll realize that sooner or later. I watched this movie in full because I'm the owner of a collectors edition Taxi Driver DVD. I relate to Travis all the way but I won't act on it like he did. I was born in the early 2000s never had any friends growing up was never part of any conversation. I've been diagnosed with a whole list of mental health problems and been through more things than most people have their entire lives. Never had any parental figure except my grandmother since my grandfather passed when I was very young. Now that I'm twenty one only friends I have are online and a couple that are local but I don't talk very often to any of them. I don't dress in a very "normal" way either I dress either Y2K 1990s or sometimes like Travis. My entire life I've always been alone in and out of mental health institutions only worsening my mental health because of the horrible things that went on in those places going from outpatient mental health clinic to the next. Even in a crowd of people or with people that share similar struggles to mine or that have been through similar things I still feel alone. Almost like I'm the only one on this entire planet that feels this way. It's just like Travis said. Loneliness has followed me my whole life. In bars in cars... sidewalks stores. Everywhere. There's no escape. I'm God's lonely man.

@@mehakverma7043 Women being generally higher in neuroticism has nothing to do with it. This a specific feeling of isolation, purposelessness, and pent up aggression that I doubt many women feel at all. No one does. The only real way to prevent that is to form strong bonds with people. I'm not sure who you are, what you've been through, but I know that as humans, we need other people in our lives to keep on going. What I like to say is "Your family helps you stay alive. Your friends keep you living". I know this ain't stellar advice, but I must say we need connections to live. Platonic, Romantic or Familial.

Bro, I'm just 27 and I'm going to turn 28, what would you say to your self from 10 years ago?
@shevy71977 ай бұрын
@@flint8720 looking back, I would say to myself and any other young man that this world is fleeting, and all of it full of distractions that enter your mind and wears the mental self down, making a man believe he is nothing, alone and forgotten about, this is true, but when you get a good view of what really matters, and what will ultimately matter once all my choices and descions in life have been made, did I do enough for my family ? my own or extended, did I make the world better or worse than when I came into it ?, will those few souls I have a say with, do they see me as a "good man" ?, did I walk the good walk with the Lord Christ ?, did I overcome even if the world sees me as nothing ?, can I say to myself, "did I do enough ?, and the right thing ?, even when I was in a mental prison, Jesus Christ gives you new eyes to see the whole jigsaw box image, not just a few pieces you have in your hand, you see your real value in yourself, and what is possible, rather than what the world tells you, or makes you think, ( there are bickles everywhere today, alot molded by society and its decay, social media and TV is bad for a young guys mind, it depicts a totally shallow and meaningless existence that isnt true to life ), it hurted to think that everyone else was operating fine, while i felt invisible and in pain, so I would seriously advise not to invest too much time or energy trying to gain "mans validation", because once you have Gods, then it really dosent matter one bit, any man who comes to the Lord with a sincere heart to learn and understand will be given new eyes to see and a fresh start, "the world" is a stumbling block to real peace and Joy ❤️❤️❤️ ✝️ 💪💪💪👍 xxxxx

“The whole conviction of my life now rests upon the belief that loneliness, far from being a rare and curious phenomenon, peculiar to myself and to a few other solitary men, is the central and inevitable fact of human existence. When we examine the moments, acts, and statements of all kinds of people -- not only the grief and ecstasy of the greatest poets, but also the huge unhappiness of the average soul…we find, I think, that they are all suffering from the same thing. The final cause of their complaint is loneliness.” ― Thomas Wolfe, God's Lonely Man
