Thank you! I have been seeking this exact answer...as Christians we know Jesus died to atone for our sins, but I was left with feeling I still don't understand the depth of what it meant for Jesus to die for our sins, to pay our price. Now I see without Jesus death we would remain forever guilty for sinning...

It is unbiblical and irresponsible to define the heart of the Christian gospel without including the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our hope as Christians is not avoiding death and condemnation, but resurrection from death and condemnation on the basis of our death in Christ and the condemnation of our sinful flesh therein. The Christian who hopes in avoiding death will live completely differently than the Christian who hopes in resurrection from death.
