Stephon Marbury was like a mystic back in the early to mid 90's coming out of high school. His hype was bigger than Garnett's & Kobe.Only Surpassed by Bron.He was looked at as the future of the pg position. He's the reason why I started watching college baketball. When he got to GT, I had to see what the hype was about.Back in those days, you had to wait until you saw it on TV.I would read about Steph in Slam Magazine, but to finally see him play was crazy.

@g.anthony2725 look at what he wrote. Marbury was known from the time he was in 9th grade nationally around the country. Going into his signing day with GT they were running his story on shows like Dateline NBC. Garnett and Kobe's names took off after their draft workouts. Gotta remember this was before social media. Marbury and Garnett were in the same McDonald's all American class. Kobe was like a year after. Marbury was a much bigger name going into college then both of them.

Steph was unreal in High School. It was like he was built in a lab. All of his older brothers were nice in ball but either got injured or had off court issues. SO they poured everything into him. TO BRING SOME CLARITY THROUGH HISTORY. ERIC MARBURY WAS THE FIRST MARBURY TO GO TO DIVISION 1 BASKETBALL AT THE UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA. I SAW HIM JUNP CENTER IN A HGIH SCHOOL GAME AGAINST BOYS AND GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL CENTER MO SANFORD. ERIC WENT TO GEORGIA WITH A GUY NAMED JEFF THOMAS FROM SHEEPSED BAY HIGH SCHOOL. HUGH DURHAM BROUGHT IN VERN FLEMING AND DOMINIQUE WILKINS WHICH TOOK SHOT OPPORTUNITIES AND THE BALL OUT OF ERIC'S HANDS. ERIC GOT DRAFTED BY THE CLIPPERS AND DID NOT MAKE THE PROS. THE NEXT MARBURY WAS DON MARBURY JR .BETTER DRIBBLER AND BETTER SHOOTER THAN ERIC BUT NOT THE ATHLETE ERIC WAS. HAD A REAL GOOD CAREER AT TEXAS AM, FOR SOME STRANGE REASON HE DID NOT GET DRAFTED. THE . NEXT MARBURY WAS NORMAN. HAD A BETTER HANDLE THAN DON AND ERIC AND COULD SHOOT AS GOOD AS DON AND WAS A BETTER ATHELTE.BUT HE HAD BAD GRADES. PLAYED A COUPLE OF GAMES AT ST FRANCIS COLLEGE. ALL OF THESE MARBURY BROTHERS PUT THEIR EXPERIENCE INTO STEPH WHICH PRODUCED THE TALENTED PLAYER THAT COULD JUMP OUT THE GYM , SHOOT AND DRIBBLE.BUT STEPH'S TEMPERMENT FOR SOME REASON CLASHED WITH MANAGEMENT ,COACHES AND PLAYERS

I don't think any other basketball player or athlete had the amount of pressure Steph had to make the league.Had all talented brothers who could've been pro players, but he combined all their talents and became a monster.Ppl can talk about Steph Curry, but I was watching Marbury shoot 25- 30 + foot shots in HS while in warm ups.30 footers in a game wasn't allowed then.

But we all know dudes that made to the league from our areas. And it's a bunch that coulda/shoulda made but didn't for whatever reason. This was when was basketball at its purest. No one cared about stats.. and goats and top 5s, top 10s and all that social media bullcrap. Notice at one point, he didn't have no clue about anyone or anything in the nba. He just knew basketball and how to play by watching and playing with dudes in and around his circle. That's how it use to be..
