Imagine, at this night, you can see the sleep, domination, power metal, the art of shredding, hard ride, cowboys from hell, medicine man... priceless?

I was thinking the same thing man... How cool would have it been to see Pantera in a small club in 90/91?... Absolutely priceless... I did get to meet Dime and Vinny one time so i am forever grateful for that. Dime signed my arm had that tatted the next morning. Love and miss Dime... Vin too... Imagine what they would be doing with all the social media now. Dime would be all over it :)

@NWOWCW4Life14 жыл бұрын
RuffisInc With the way the group got in more heavier and harder ala change of sound, no way he would of kept that going even during the 90s alongside the drugs and all. I get you tho. What a voice man
@takeoischi41564 жыл бұрын
the vocals on the whole of Cowboys from Hell are on another level compared to all his later stuff
@RuffisInc4 жыл бұрын
Inside The Cynical I totally get you, and I’m not criticising his later style’s. Trendkill, for example, has some of the best extreme vocals ever recorded, it’s just that live he was horribly inconsistent at times. The RTS tour live videos can be pretty painful to watch. The thing with Phil is he’s always had the potential to be great. He had a phenomenal bounce back that lasted from 2007-2010, because he finally got clean and stayed clean. If you’re into Down and you’ve checked them out, when they initially reformed in 2006, his voice was destroyed more or less, there’s no other way to put it really. Even though he’d set down the needle, he was going on stage out of his mind on Soma’s or whatever he could get, but he finally sobered up and had a brilliant performance on Over the Under and the proceeding tours. Everyone thought he was toast and he proved them wrong, the sad thing is he just seem’s to go backwards and forwards so much over the past decade with his health and unfortunately nowadays that’s been effecting his performance a lot. That being said I’ve got a lot of hope for Down. They’re start playing again after the pandemic we’re in clears up so fingers crossed, I guess

his vocal range was amazing on the Power Metal album and Cowboys from Hell, and then he stopped doing the higher falsetto stuff by the time they did Vulgar Display of Power, because it was the early 90s and that halford/king diamond style of vocals wasn't considered "cool" anymore. Then he blew out his voice and can't do it again even if he wanted to. I am sure that drugs didn't help him either.

Rest easy Dimebag, ill be slamming back plenty of beer, (dont have the stuff to make Blacktooth Grins) in your honor, i know you and Vinnie Paul are jamming, smoking all the weed you want, drinking all the booze, and fucking every beautiful girl past the pearly gates.

It's near impossible to pick a favorite Dimebag solo. But this one is pretty high up there. When he was Diamond Darrell. He was always a legend and by all accounts, a friendly good natured goofball. This song is great because it was heavy but it never eschewed melody. COWBOYS FROM HELL had a lot of elements of 80's Pantera but with a hint of the direction they would take in the 90's.
