I took a stab at stand up for a few years. I ALWAYS made sure to write jokes from my own experiences so if someone took it, you knew it was mine locally. I worked out a personal joke at an open mic. It came about from an actual event the day before. A fellow comedian told me a couple of weeks later a local "celebrity" had taken my joke to one of her lil' shows. You're not just stealing a joke, you're lying on yourself to the crowd. They are indeed vermin.

Same here i tried it for a while wrote my own material and had one stolen. I know the feeling. Hell the comedian that did steal it is one of my favs. I hate it and same time love it when i saw all the shows when the joke was done and crowds are laughing so hard with tears coming out their eyes i sit back and say to myself brother you wrote some funny shyt
