I would like to have more standardized comparison of the Guide Number for 35mm focal length and 100ASA. All guide numbers listed are only for tele focal length, which is not very comparable in a normal party scenario (using about 28 to 70mm, but mostly 35).

@hypop2 жыл бұрын
Hi Caleb, the Godox TT520II is an older model and sits along side the TT600 as they're both manual flashes. It only works with Godox's legacy flash trigger system the FT-16 but you can get it to work with the new X wireless system by using an XTR-16 receiver. They're discontinued by Godox now but you may get lucky with stock at a retailer.

When a flash is for Canon, does it then work with all Canon from old DSLR to newest R6 mark II? And thanks for the comparison!
@hypop Жыл бұрын
Hey there! In general, modern Canon version Godox on-camera flashes are compatible with all Canon models at a minimum of being able to fire off the flash with the shutter. Occasionally, specific features may not work with certain cameras. For instance, on mirrorless cameras, including other brands besides Canon, the AF assist feature is known to be non-functional. There are reports of limited TTL effectiveness on the R6 Mark II, but we can't confirm since we don't have it for testing. Hope this helps!

According to the Godox website, the TT600 is only compatible with a few dedicated Godox flash transmitters. I don't suppose it's possible to trigger it with flash triggers from other brands? If so, could those flash triggers work with any brand of camera?
@hypop7 ай бұрын
You can only trigger the TT600 using the internal receiver via a Godox X-trigger such as the X1, X2, X3, XPro or XProII. If you'd like to use other triggers such as Pocketwizards or other brands you'd have to attach a receiver to the bottom of the TT600 to integrate it to that particular wireless system, which isn't as elegant as the Godox system however would still work.

The TT685II should be good enough (use AA battery), the lithium battery in the V860II helps you to increase recycle time (the flash needs time in between to light up again) but you will shoot still real estate so you shouldn’t need that. With the trigger you will have more flexible way to light up your subject. It doesn’t need to be stuck on the camera and the TT685II can work accordingly (slave mode) with your Nikon built-in flash. Hope this help

You asked about the pros and cons of Godox Li Ion batteries. Personally I don't really care about the battery technology, its the form factor that I am most concerned with. If its a proprietary shape then you are locked into the manufacturer. If its a "standard" cell/battery shape then you don't have to worry that the manufacturer either doesn't make batteries any more or wants to charge an arm and a leg. I also like the idea of being able to plug in an external battery pack using a standard, non proprietary cable.

Hobbyists are going to own the camera brand flashes, so an important consideration is if the Goddox would work in conjunction with existing, say Canon flashes already owned. Why don't you clearly state this? Saying it's compatible with a camera is not the same as saying it's compatible with other branded equipment and its important to understand this. I use speed lights of and on so I don't want Lithium batteries as they lose capacity over time. Besides that it's easier to find some AA batteries in case you run empty. I don't use TTL as it is not very reliable (will it meter on the subject or the background, you never know). Never us a speed light on top of the camera also. So the best flash for me is the TT600. Manual flashes only do HSS in combination with a trigger, not on camera !!!
