WOW... what I like about him... His playing is soulful. There are plenty of guitarists out there that can play like greased lightning... but it's not just the speed, it's the tasteful notes that count and pouring yourself into it. Dude has the magic.

I listen Jimi ,Gilmour and all great ones but this guy is not so famous but mann he have so great feeling he combines melody blues and shred i just listen him for 2 hours tracks from europe and solo albums I'm so blown away he is so unbelievable good my guitar hero number one because of him i started getting into guitar world and music

Exactly. Paul is a guitar maniac and astonishing artist BUT he will never play these notes from deep within the heart and soul like John. (and I'm a big fan of Gilbert!) :)

A stunning piece of music from a truly great guitar player. The music has a dark but gigantic scope and grandeur about it, like a bellowing cry from the unknown realm of the noumenon. The fact that it stands as a great piece of music independently of the soloing shows it's greatness. God bless John Norum. You are special. The god's must love you like we do on earth.

I think that both John and Paul clearly have feeling. I don't see how one has and one doesn't, I'd say that they both have different styles and different ways of expressing their feelings.

As was said earlier I also hear gary Moore and shenker in john..He plays with alot of heart as did his influences..i always enjoy seeing a player who goes with emotions as opposed to technical wizardry. .i have to say I love aphasia awesome piece from his early days

Paul indeed has a lot of feeling when he plays, besides feeling is not just about doing weird faces or gestures while playing, its about loving what you are doing and Paul definitely loves playing guitar

In the music videos of carrie, rock the night and open your heart, kee marcello appeared as their lead, where actually norum played those solos... He left Europe, when the band was at it's peak... That's why, he got underrated... I love final countdown music video, norum appeared there as a true rockstar... And that's their only music video back then, in which norum appeared...

To all who think the gut has problem with speedpicking, that's totally untrue. He has always armpicked, even during the 80s, that's what's called style. Norum is well known and respected for that and for his vibrato. Check out his huge and diverse solo work.

Mr. Norum is not as clean or "technical" as he used to be in the 80s, but he became quite more soulful and bluesy after Europe reunion. I like it :) (well, when it comes to play a Kee Marcello's solo the results may vary...)

Mr Norum is fantastic !! Feeling, technic, emotion, amazing sound...all is there. He is the only guitarist worthy of being compared to the Legend Gary Moore. He is the only one who makes me vibrate with the same emotions. A true guitar god...🤘🙏🤩👍

Max Seven But to claim that he's never played emotionally is a massive understatement. I love both of them as a guitar player myself. John have tried to play even more technically in his younger years (tapping, arpeggios and that string skipping lick) but never was on Paul's level. Paul on the other hand never had that sweet tone but his vibrato is also quite perfect.
