@@carsonwood3041 if I recall correctly there was part of the story where it goes like, The goddesses were were worried about Aphrodite’s “gifts” as many gods were showing interest into pursuing her. So to avoid shenanigans among the gods i think Hera suggested to Zeus to marry Aphrodite to Hephaestus. But I also know about the story Zeus gave Aphrodite in marriage to Hephaestus AFTER he trapped his mother Hera in a throne he gifted her. He then released her after. While Hephaestus probably was initially happy with the marriage the goddess was not. She never even had a child with him. She had several children with Ares though. Hephaestus even caught them together in the act with a special “net”. Maybe that was when he divorced her and had a much happier relationship with one of the Graces, Aglaea. I do wonder if the several children she had with Ares was after that ?

The story goes that Apollo and Hyacinthus were playing with a discus, but at some point Zephyrus, who was jealous of Apollo and Hyacinthus' relationship, made a gust of wind causing the discus to hit Hyacinthus in the head, causing his death. Apollo in his grief and mourning turned Hyacinthus into the Hyacinth flower.

As a big fan of Eris, and i can see her conflict. it's one that so many like her in other stories have experienced (characters like Medusa and Maleficent). the experience that she kinda can't help her own powers, or just SEEMS 'different' to others and is so labeled as "bad" and after being outcasted and/or mistreated etc etc for so long, she eventually leans into the "chaos". This is SO good. can't wait for the next one!

I’m so happy we got to see more of the dynamic between Ares and Aphrodite and I had suspicion that there falling out wasn’t primarily Ares fault, especially considering last episode when she was upset at the thought of Ares choosing another woman than her. Also, during Ares and Aphrodite fight, he said to her that she’ll run into the arms of whoever will comfort her after they have arguments and then come back to him claiming she missed him and he’s her true ❤, with a sad expression on his face. Ares isn’t perfect but damn can you imagine your partner breaking up with you after every disagreement, hooking up with other people, and then coming back each time with “baby I love you 😘.” 😅 In this episode, we literally see that happening with Aphrodite being pushy and upset that Ares didn’t want to get back together immediately and setting boundaries, and showing respect to Eos. And her immediately remembering Hephaestus existence because she’s upset Ares won’t date her again -for now. Gurl is a kind of messy 😂

Poor Eris she didn't mean to lose control of her powers she just got nervous. It was nice of posidan to try and bring hades and persephone together but then stopped it after hades said no. The part where aphrodite said hesphasteus's name was like her realizing that she had someone better than ares that wanted to be with her. The dynamics among the characters are spot on! Take Athena and Poseidon, for instance; their animosity is like a perfectly choreographed dance of doom. Then there's Aphrodite, Ares, and Hephaestus-talk about a love triangle that could use a GPS! And let’s not forget Demeter, Persephone, and Hades, who are basically the original dysfunctional family. Meanwhile, Morpheus is just lounging with his soulmate Calliope, completely unfazed by the chaos around him. It's like he's on a permanent vacation while everyone else is in a soap opera!

The most amazing part of this series is how the de facto protagonist is Eris, goddess of discord, and she comes off as endearing and sympathetic, even though that is in complete opposition to her demesne, or area of expertise. Other versions of Eris show her relishing breaking people apart, but not this one: her power is portrayed more like something she has no control over, that happens naturally around her. She reminds me a bit of modern interpretations of Loki, with the difference that in those versions (for example The Gospel of Loki by Joanne Harris, the netflix series Twilight of the Gods, and the Marvel version of the character) Loki embraces his being "the bad guy", while Eris doesn't seem to be at that point yet. Little detail, at least two of the more despicaple portrayals of Eris have short, skull-trimmed hair, so if we ever saw our gloomy godling grabbing a pair of scissors it could mean that the stercus is about to hit the fan.

@@Bonnet416 There are Twelve Olympians. They're the big boy gods. But then they needed to add Dionysus in, and explain why he was one of the 12 when that made 13. So they made up a story that Hestia gave up her seat to Dionysus, because she's the biggest sister, she just likes to take care of the house, and this way she could stay a homebody. So that's the myth. What's happening behind the scenes there is that the era we consider Ancient Greece has *its own* ancient greece. The gods were not invented when Athens and Sparta and the rest came onto the scene - the greeks had been worshiping these gods throughout the whole bronze age, and shifting and changing as history and story and popularity moved. So everyone knew who Dionysus was, but he wasn't strongly worshipped anymore and wasn't a major god. But then he got popular again, and that needed an explanation, because now we have a bunch of stories were the 12 include Dionysus and a bunch where they don't. And we can't just say its 13, because its the gods and that means it actually happened. So they all decided that in the dreamtime when all this god stuff happened - Dionysus literally just showed up late, but the reason he was so powerful anyway was because Hestia stepped back so he could literally take her seat as one of the 12. (Which of course Homer really ran with when writing his Athens-propoganda version of the Odyssey, because Athens was very sexist. So because Homer was the first person to write all this done, it because The Facts that that's how it happened, and the other versions have basically disappeared over time)

I am noticing just how possessive Eris is of Paris. She literally gets provoked if he attempts to mingle with the rest of the cast. Plus, she tends to boss him a lot. So yeah, I ship them hard.

i have to say this episode lost me, i have no idea why the part at 5:55 was supposed to be impactful. The cinematography clearly shows it is supposed to be a tense moment and a crucial decision/act is made/done but i honestly just felt confused. Sure everyone's fighting bc of her magic but why was the disc important of all things...? Tbh i liked the previous episodes a lot more

Hephaestus is so sweet to Aphrodite! He is such a good guy, despite in Greek mythology their marriage ended in disaster and Aphrodite actually ended up with Ares(I ship them). Keep up the good work, I want to see if Ares chooses Eos or Aphrodite in the end! (If there is one, which I hope there’s not! Lol)

I love how in this show the gods are in a school for gods, and pretty shocked when even a single drop of Aphrodite's tear could have made the discus more deadly. 🥶 And also in the scene where we see Morpheus with two other gods, love their designs. 😍
