Been telling folks that for years, eliminate any of the two you have no rythme, eliminate anything other than bass or drum you could chime in with an infints rattle or a bike horn and song still flows. He had a birth defect that messed up the fingers on his left hand. So he learned to play left handed and using finger picks. I admire his overcoming a handicap and using it to his advantage. He's one of my favorite bass players ever!
