Anthem for the New States of America. Godspeed should be in their hearts. Black Emperor for the light was corrupted. Aztec Empire growing from the ashes. Knowing the value of Defeat of loss of misery of pain. Forgotten in time but not lost. Roses rise A farewell. It truly is. How many times have I said this but to just go back. Far to many times to know this feeling right now is different. It's sad but not the pain isn't as deep or as painful as before. Our nations Independence is approaching now. Less than a week away. Far to many are acting and not believing. I am an immigrants son. A United States citizen to two immigrant parents from Guerrero Mexico. From Aztec descent. A proud Aztec warrior and believer of its God's as well as a proud Catholic. I come from and grew up on black and white culture. Jazz, blues and rock and roll. All I can do is write and so I do. I am proud to be part of this nation and what it stands for. Hopefully we can show the nation indivisible by God. Show the world the birth of a new nation. United States of America as great as our nation has been there have also been many injustices done as well. Far to many that just cannot be simply ignored. The selfish, the greedy and the heartless are sitting to comfortably. Their day is coming. Yet as our government currently stands falls way behind standards. The one mistake was taking religion out of government. We ought to have constitutients that the love and hope of God in their hearts if they are to serve as part of our nation. Why take that out? We are also putting faith and beliefs into things we have never witnessed or experienced before. Yes we read it or think it's in the Bible but you got to build faith, hope and trust on the tangible. Otherwise if anything bad happens we can simply brush off responsibility and blame the promise that no one made to us but we believe it did so in the Bible and by God. Nothing is ever going to get fixed if we keep blaming God. For one he never promised me or anyone anything. He never came before me and told me empty promises. My parents did. My pastor did. Yet how could God had told them anything if had not even been born yet. The Bible is book of prophecies. On human behavior. We are that predictable. So Jeremiah 4 is actually happening right now. The cities have been abandoned. Lo and behold I look up into the sky and no light. Lo and behold I looked into the mountains and felt the earth shaking. It's currently Mexico and the mass leaving of its people. As a woman giving birth to her first born is heard screaming. I am surrounded by my assassins. God has not even been born. What a better way to keep him safe than the world do what it does best. Blame someone other than themselves. The guilty never go beyond the surface. God has been trying and trying for thousands of years. Every one of us had the potential to be themselves. Rarely does any ever truly become self. I have. I have been. Jesus Christ no he was alcoholic and had a foot fetish. I am lizandro salgado. A meth user. That's not right God or Jesus Christ doesnt do meth. How do you know? For once try something different. All we have been doing is the same thing believing its the right way. I'm saying it's not. Don't hang out with those people they are a bad influence. Then let me be a good influence on them. How is your thinking in any way selfish and just evil. We are your over lords. Rip and tear every false prophet. Rip and tear where they called home including their children and anyone willing to defend these so-called kings. My people are stupid and do not know how to do good. They only learned to do evil. A reckoning is coming. Change your evil ways or when we come back you will regret ever becoming more than just a thought. Still here when we come back judgment will be upon your so called God, whoever mothered him will be trialed as well. Along with anyone who pushed this foolish agenda. Watching an evil act and do nothing then you should not judge any anyone lesser than you. You are the low of lowest animals. True leaders with integrity can only judge even if he has to become God jury and exucutioner. Kill this man then only blame your ignorance for whoever long Your suffering continues. So as long as the lowly creature drags his guilt and shame your suffering shall never end. We are leaving you to your own devices. Tell them whatever lie you want about defeating me. I leave you these so called riches to you and your people are the True rulers of these lands. Or until we come back to reclaim and fight what we have left you. No way. Maybe an interesting alternative version. But the album version starts so gorgeous and the transitions are brilliant. I love it. Also the sound of the guitars. Just the last 4 minutes are not as amazing as the first eleven minutes. I guess it's meant as some kind of musical deconstruction. As such, it's good. But the track deserved a better than good ending.

@@Lukas_Kramer I still love the album version. One of the best tracks GYBE have ever made. And my opinion has not changed: The last part does not keep up with the other music. Seems like you almost see it the other way around. 😉 What do you think of their newest album? I'm still not sure about it. My feeling is that it lacks a bit musical inspiration. BUT there are some pretty fascinating details and parts for sure.

@@honigschlecker1 I can honestly see you point, I think the intro is the best part about Anthem For No State, and over the last couple of weeks it has certainly grown more and more on me. I love the variation of the instruments used in each individual part and the build up and anticipation it creates. But, luckily for me I guess, the final part just works and I love it. Their latest album certainly had to grow on me a bit, but that's not unusual for me. I agree with what you're saying and it is still lacking something for me, perhaps it is the musical inspiration. I think the finale go Government Came is one of their most brilliant, however I tend to actually skip its intro, which usually never happens with other songs.

I remember seeing this in Montreal in mid 2016. This was far before anyone knew there was gonna be a new album and I remember everyone in the venue trying to place the song. No one knew what the fuck they were listening to but everyone loved it. It came out of nowhere, and it was an almost religious experience. I turned to my friend and said "I haven't heard this before, I don't think anyone has." The experience was only made better by the fact that the venue was an old church, Le Théâtre Paradoxe, in the west end on Montreal. The most fitting place I could imagine them playing.

The Toronto show was a great GSYBE audience, but the Mtl experience was somehow more special given the performances were in the city they call home and there`s a special vibe with the people attending as if they are all more more connected with the group and not mere fans.

The first piece of Godspeed you black emperor's art i heard was the dead flag blues. It gave assurance to me that others felt the same turbulence while imagining the future. From there their music has opened up far more doors in my own appreciation of beauty.

I was supposed to see Godspeed You! Black Emperor last year in March in Garden Grove. Last time i saw them was almost a decade ago in Pomona at the Fox theater. Still to young and naive to fully understand the value. The worth of myself and of them. How i am probably the Black Emperor. Bailey makes more sense and especially the passages the vynl holds on the inside. Now its my favorite passages from Jeremiah. I finally listen the new album. Good point the recording is very good which was not always the case (Béhémoth recording is quite bad in my opinion lack the fury of the live version). About this shortened version I understand what gybe tried to made. A more peacefull song in the spirit of their early tracks. But to me they definitively kill the best part. The first crescendo before the climax was one of my prefered movement of gybe last release. so sad

This (alongside the track "Buildings") is a live recorded version from the previous tour, they've been playing these 2 songs for almost 3 years now, and it's likely that they're gonna be on the new records. The titles were given from the fans based on the video projections the band used during the performance of the 2 tracks.

It's not an official name. I'm starting to see it called that amongst tapers. New Song 1 is being called "Buildings," and as you pointed out, it has to do with the film contents. It seems odd to me that no one has seen a setlist or talked to someone in the band about this. Anyway, I hope they record these to album soon.

Don't misunderstand me. This track is awesome but the second part look more classical to me. Strangely the two new songs are built exactly the same. It's good that godspeed back to more melodic and less powerfull song. I really like behemoth but on the long term this is not as good as previous record (specially Lift)

+Da' Rito Do you really think that, though? I can understand if someone thinks that Lift has cheesy parts; it certaintly has. For me the whole album is full of outbursting, beautifully delivered emotion which is not in the slightest way fake. I mean, at least for me - which means nothing - , it's one of the most deeply moving pieces of modern music. It triggers, I would even say unleashes, emotions that are buried deep down in my psyche. I don't know many albums which can do that.
